BSNL is good as long as it worked, Indicom is good if it worked.. that was 2 years back, never considered anything else after switching to Airtel.
Cheers!
Thanks guys. I have seen Airtel people coming in my area. Will check them out for their plans.

Today I noticed that my broadband speed has gone up to 2 MBPS. I have the turbo plan and don't want to migrate to their new PSEUDO UNLIMITED plans with higher speeds. Anyone else have noticed any change in speed?

I also do observe the bump to 2Mbps but it is quite random. It sometimes last for 30 minutes, sometimes for more than 3 hrs at a stretch.

Either they are testing something or some glitch in their SOD system or just another bait-n-switch scheme.

If you are consistently getting the 2 Mbps (Check after a few hours), then it is good news I guess

@Gandhi, What is your original plan? I am having 750 HU+ in which I am getting 512 kbps. Are there any upgrades in this particular plan?

I am also getting 2Mbps since Saturday. Uploads are at about 750kbps. Seems to be consistent based on the the statistics provided by the network monitoring software.

Right now I'm in 1299 Turbo plan which is 512 kbps during day time and 1 mbps in nights. I will call Airtel customer care and confirm if they have changed my plan without notifying me.

Looks like Airtel has bumped up the speed for Turbo 1299 plan. Now it is called Impatience 1299 plan as per their website. The download speed is 2Mbps till 20GB, thereafter 256Kbps. A similar 1399 plan also exist with 4Mbps speed upto 25GB and then 256Kbps.

Is Airtel doing it without customer's consent? As for me, I don't want to be part of such silly plans with ridiculous FUP limits even if I get 16Mbps speeds

I heard that the FUP limits are not monitored now, but its only a matter of time they catch up with it.

I have had a spate of browser pages from Airtel telling me that I have exceeded my free allowance and that further traffic will be charged. It is a nonsense, as the traffic had not even reached 4Gb on a 15-Gb-free plan. The details shown on the Airtel online account were correct. Guys on support told me not to worry, believe only the on-line billing data, but still it is annoying, especially of one looses a long forum post because of it.

When it happens, clearing the browser cache and the cookies for the host (check the location, it comes up as an IP address) get rid of it for a while, otherwise it recurs.

I am on 1599 combo(IPTV + Broadband). 512kbps day and 1mbps night.
They have tried to switch me to 4mbps plan, but I refused. I think i will stick to my lower speed plan.

I was on the 1299 Turbo Unlimited plan (512 kbps during the day, 1Mbps during night).

For the past 2 days, I've been observing that the speed has doubled. 1Mbps during the day and 2Mbps during night. No communication from Airtel so far on this speed increase though.

I was happy with my old truly unlimited old plan (512Kbps/1Mbps, No FUP crap)...My last months download was over 175GB. I only hope there are no new FUP limits with this speed bump.
