Awakening this old thread.
I have used several headsets over the years, starting with the humble BH101. That was direct cheap and used to be decent enough for conversations in the car while driving back in 2008.
Over time, I realized the value of these devices on LONG conference calls. I moved to the Plantronics Voyager Legend. Generally good enough esp when paired with the computer/BB/E63 but not outstanding when paired with the SGS3.
and then it broke too!
RPTech were nice enough to give me a moderate discount on the on-street MRP of the Plantronics Discovery 975 (i now wanted a one piece unit!).
However, this unit in particular has terrible audio quality. The ear bud design is unique and smart but it has a not-good-enough mounting mechanism and it chews through an ear bud every three months. Ebay came to the rescue but the challenge is that the earbuds get bent when charging within the case. Thus its a bit like running on a treadmill.

(note the used eartip on the left with the new one on the right).
I can't under-recommend this unit enough.
What do BHPians use? I'm willing to invest 5-6k in this work-critical equipment provided the audio is outstanding.
Else I'll just ask my company to provide me a Jabra 510 for official calls at least.
Plantronics is generally middle of the road in price, quality and everything else. Sennheiser makes some very good ones indeed. Did you try the latest plantronics voyager series (voyager edge) by the way.
If you want a drool worthy stereo headset

I recall you using a voyager level single piece device. which one was it?
I've afraid of buying a new voyager lest it break in six months again! :)
Any particular recommendation from sennheiser? i'm game for 5-6k max.
Plantronics 925. Predecessor of the 975 but superlative audio. Check reviews on any site. It has become very cheap as well, 25$ usually. I buy 2 at a time, and each usually lasts me 2 years approx, not counting losses and mishaps.
Supports 2 phones at once, or one phone and laptop if you want to take Skype or Lync calls.
Recently got a JBL bluetooth headset for my Xperia-S. Model is a J303BT.
started using it today. Problem is that it randomly dials out numbers by itself. Has any body faced similar problems ?
This problem would not be due to the phone. I have been using the phone for more than a year, and my earlier Bluetooth ( a Plantronics) which I have had for about two years - did not have this problem.
Yes, like what the OP said there.
I know that my old Plantronics is not the culprit.
I know it is not any Windows gremlins.

You might follow that advice (and similar in a thread about iphones that I saw elsewhere) .. remove all paired bluetooth devices. Add just your new headset.

Thanks, @hserus. I updated the settings for the paired earphones to disable voice. I also de-selected media for this earphone. It has been holding for sometime now.
I dont listen to music on my BT earphone, hence should be fine.
Update: was having problems with this particular unit. The incoming voice was not clear. My voice was clear to the other party. I initiated a return, and Amazon.in picked it up the next day & also initiated the refund.
Seller on Amazon.in was FX Audio. Unit came from Sahil International.
I want to buy Bluetooth In-Ear Earphones (not Headphones) for calling as well as listening music. (Play, Change Songs on the move)
Budget- ₹1000-1200/-
It should be useful while riding bike (Call quality should be good on road with negligible road noise and good audio quality). Helmet specific model is not required.
Reliability is a must but not brand.
Searched Amazon.in and found below ones though some of them are outside my budget-
1.
Robster Aura QY7
2.
Curiosity Q9
3.
Altec Lansing MZW100
4.
Jogger QY8
5.
Crossbeats Ultra
6.
Crossbeats Aura
7.
Soundpeats QY7
8.
Musesonic Ultra
Which one to go for from above options?
You all are welcome to suggest other than above options if needed.
I may extend the budget to 1500/- if required.

I've tried these bluetooth headphones like Crossbeats Ultra. I think mine was called QY7 or something. Not very comfortable. They show it's quite small in the pictures but its quite big. And when you're out running, you can feel them weighing your ears down. Didn't like it.
