W960 is gonna be phenomenal...but I wudnt like to part with my k790i as it pretty much takes care of most of my needs

Yup airtel network locked set. Open handsets will be almost double the cost is the indication with B&W.

W900i is not available i suppose , why not you get the N95 ? It's prices have been dropped recently which makes it worth buing it.

About the iPhone.

The phone is meant to be operated by touching the screen.
Human fingertips exude sebum (oil). Expect it to be always saddled with greasy fingerprints.

Its software sucks.
Telephone is an application has the same priority level as the music player, camera, calculator, browser, etc.
So, to make a call you have to unlock the phone through a slider, close all applications, open the phone application and then dial your number.

No memory expansion possible.

Yahoo home page takes 120 seconds to load.

So the iPhone is all about hype(rbole).

We in India are far more sophisticated than USA when it comes to cellular phones (and SMS usage, and driving manual transmission and tolerating unruly road-users and designing software and being tech savvy and taste in food, clothes, films, music, art and aesthetics and ...? [suggestions welcome]).
...they don't even have something as kewl as a Team-BHP!

Verdict: Buy a Nokia N95 or N73 Music Edition and be done with it!

was just browsing through the sony ericsson site and came across this.the sony ericsson k850i,a 5MP camera phone.and it looks good too.
cant wait for it to get launched.

Has anyone here has had the chance to use openmoko?
This phone is 300$ completely open platfrom.
The sad part is no camera.
On paper iphone has more features than this one.
But if you throw out the paper, this phone wins because according to service agreement with AT&T, the iphone is heavily crippled.
Its not even a wifi phone(limited wifi limited to 150 times).
So if you are in an area with frequent wifi disconnections, you will use up this 150 pretty quick.
I wonder how will people take to a 38K phone in India, when the effective feature list is that of a 8000rs phone?

But with the iphone getting hacked, you can do many things which you may not according to the agreement.
Its a Samsung chipset with ARM11 processor core, so writing code for it should be fairly simple.

Hi guys.
Currently my Mom is using an SE W810i. My old cell conked out, so I am eyeing her cell now. lol. She anyways never uses walkman or camera or bluetooth etc.
So for the plan to happen, I will need to buy her a new cell.

Requirements:-
1. LARGE display or numbers and easy to use keypad. Mom is 45yrs and can't be searching for her near sight spects everytime there is a call. Key here is large display of numbers and not necessarily a large display itself. E.g. Motorola phones display BIG digits even in small screens. But I'm a big fan of motorola. And hence the query here.

2. Has to be cheap cuz me paying from own pocket. Would be best If I could get few choices in medium and low price ranges.

Hope the above plan works out. Else, it's 1110i or 1600 for me. :-(
