put on the bluetooth and pair the devices and click on to transfer data.
think the msgs cant be transfered, contacts will get transfered for sure.
for the msgs you need to transfer to pc and then to new phone.

as far as i know it is not possible in series 40 devices.

@viper, you will have to take a backup of your 6230 with pc suite and restore it in 6300.

Hi Guys ,

Guys I need your expert advice on Nokia communicator 9300i , I always wanted to keep a communicator with me , here in new delhi its for Rs 21000 and in that price I know I can get most of the Nseries phone from nokia and one of really good phones from sony erricsson .

i dont know why but i just love communicator even though FM , Camera andeven VIBRATOR is misssing , I love this phone since my college days but at that time i couldnt afford it and now as I have started earning I can go for it .

Please advice that whether should I go for this dream fone of mine or should I go for Nokia 6300, Motorola A1200 , Moto rockr , Sony m600i Sony K810 i , Nokia N91 , O2 XDA Atom , O2 Stealth

I know we can not compare these phones as they are very different in their features but please help .

Thanks and regards
Prashant

i have used the 9300i and i would like to say its just wastage of money buy something else

its kind of huge to carry around

Nokia 6300 used it and i found it to the best cell available south or 10 k mark

Nokia N91 ,had it for about 6 months and 4 months it was with nokia care but now at 11k its very appealing
O2 XDA Atom had it for 2 days and traded it for a n91 worse decision ever

I was also wondering if the batteries are interchangable for nokia's. Why not just buy the phone you you like and put in a higher mAh battery from another model. the 6300 has the BL-4C 860mAh battery, why not change it with the BL-5C 970mAh from the N72 or E50. The size and pin locations are identical.
MY bad. I was confused it with E50 as I was comparing those two for my dad in the 10K range.

My apologies Viper, If I confused you. congrats on the purchase.

I see a lot of people now switching to the Nokia E61i. I think it is a highly under rated phone for the value that it provides.

why dont you get the e90 the communicator's successor.Good phone which solves almost all niggles that the previous 9300 had.

Hi Vishal,

Thanks a lot. Went to my phone supplier and got it done thru him as I did not have the data cable for the 6230. All sms msgs and contacts were successfully transferred.

Just realized one thing the Nokia 6300 has an internal phone memory of only 6MB and you have to buy the data cable seperately. Fortunately the data cable on the E62 and 6300 are the same.
