Hey aah78
Let me tell u, its a TRI-BAND phone. !!
I don't know if they introduced a tri-band version of the 8910i, but, when it was launched in India, I clearly remember it being a dual-band. I had checked it out at a Nokia Professional Centre. Even GSM Arena hasn't updated the necessary information if Nokia upgraded the 8910i to a tri-band.

The Nokia 8910i is definitely not a tri-band phone. Nokia confirms: Nokia 8910i - Nokia official site

In my opinion, the best non-camera phone is the Nokia 6610. If you're on a tight budget, the Sony Ericsson J200i is pretty good too.

By the way, have you guys noticed something? Many Siemens cellhones and Mercedes cars share same model names - SL55, S55, C55, etc.

You said it! Been using one since 2003 and it absolutely rocks.

Spot on. Its intentional by Siemens. Even in the pricing, C is the cheapest while the S series is at the higher end. The SL (no surprises) is their sporty model.

Nokia 8910/8910i - clarifications

Sorry to disappoint you guys but the Nokia 8910i is a DUAL-BAND phone

"Dual Band Operation
 • EGSM 900, GSM 1800, and GSM 900/1800 dual-band networks in Europe, Africa, and Asia. Automatic switching between bands. "
reference: http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,4611,00.html

For a Tri-Band phone it needs to work on GSM 900/1800/1900. This phone works only on the GSM 900/1800 frequencies.

It does not work in USA which uses GSM 900/1900. I have tried it myself.. you can try it out yourself..

The one which does work in USA is generally a Nokia 8390 or a Nokia 6590 fit with a Nokia 8910 conversion kit..

Use your mouse, click on the links Aditya has provided.. read them..

am very happy with my t610, very good phone with neat looks and for overall functions, only thing which i hate is the camera, no clarity at all!!!

am now thinking of changing it(started thinking a year ago) and here are my options,

k700i - good phone but no slot for memory expansion
t630 - i love this, but what about its camera? any idea? or is it the same as t610?
7610 - expensive, but i am hearing its very capable, am confused bout its looks.
6230 - the one which i love the most, but is it worth it?

what do u think guys?
