We did add an Redmi Note 11T 5G for exchange. That's the reason why we got such a good discount.

OT - was the order placed using your RCC account?

Also I don't think the free buds are the "pro" ones. Those are the entry level ₹2k buds.
Yes, error on my end. Confused the regular Nord Buds 3 with their Pro counterpart.

Ok, makes sense now. I didn't have a phone to exchange, atleast not one in working condition. Not sure if they take phones with shattered displays.

Yes I did sign in to the site using phone number before I placed the order. Is there a different procedure to login to the RCC account?

I've checked. OnePlus doesn't accept phones with shattered displays. Other minor issues like button not working, dents, etc are acceptable.

RCC account is accessible using the OnePlus Store. Login preferably with the account which the Nord was linked to, that way RCC Membership discount gets applied.

Yes I did place the order from the same account from which I bought the Nord. But I didn't see any additional discount applied. Thanks anyways for all the help!

Decided to stick to Apple and picked up 16 Plus but this time 256GB. Tried the folding phone from Motorola but didn't find it much appealing.

So newer version and increased storage is what I got. Vijay Sales was not offering a good deal and neither was Croma. Moreover, they were only offering the phone. Checked old phone value with Cashify store and online and it had too much variance. Tried SahiValue and they offered maximum value among the three.

Ended up in Reliance Digital and they had a one stop all setup. Good offer, CC cash back (instant and non-EMI), data migration (about 2 hours), instant migration of the eSIMM onto the new device and immediate cash payment for old phone - matching the offer of SahiValue.

So one Saturday got expensed in this but got everything done in one day.

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

I have been using an iPhone 11 since 2020 and got a makeshift Samsung F15 last year as I needed a dual SIM 5G phone. Factored that the F15 will be a free phone if I use it for a few months (more premium phones get price cuts in time).

The F15 (Rs12k phone) is obviously nowhere near iPhone 11. I have made a UPI payment of, say, 50 instead of 150 because of the laggy experience.

My biggest issue with the phone? The inconsistent unlocking experience. Upon picking the phone, sometimes it wakes up the display and other times it doesnt (thus needing 2 taps). Then sometimes it wakes up as I am about to tap the screen, leading to the phone going back to sleep. Its all very frustrating at times.

I am in love with android all over again. It keeps a finger in my bum in the name of privacy violation but the gallery app sorting camera and whatsapp images separately is enough to sell one to me. The way files app work, truecaller warns about spam is all an added bonus.

My question is that the F15 is going to my parent's house and I need a new phone. It could be an iPhone 15 128GB or a Samsung Galaxy S24 FE. Does Samsung Galaxy S24 FE give a lag free experience?

Kindly help me solve this dilemma. I saw ghodlur's post on the previous page and understood that there areplenty of options to get confused, especially with the Motorola Edge 60 Pro or something.

.

I was experiencing similar lag issues on my Nord 3, so I enabled Developer Options and adjusted the following settings:

1. Window Animation Scale – set to 0.5x
2. Transition Animation Scale – set to 0.5x
3. Animator Duration Scale – set to 0.5x

These tweaks significantly reduced lag and jitter, making the overall experience much smoother.

Dear driving_smartly, appreciate the inputs but the broader issues lies with the hardware limitation of the humble F15 in comparison to the iPhone 11 which offers a much more cohesive experience between hardware and software.

As a new 5G phone is needed by my parents anyway, I might use this opportunity to move back to something "proper" in the 35-40k range that I will use for atleast 4-5 years (just like my iPhone 11).

Had iPhone 11 been a 5G device, I would have never wanted to buy anything else right now once I no longer need a dual SIM phone.

The S24 FE seems decent for your needs. However, you will end up spending well over 40k if you need it's 256gb storage variant. Hence I'd suggest take a look at the Samsung A55. You can get it in the 12gb RAM and 256gb storage configuration for about 30k. It even gives you memory card support.

If you are open to explore outside Samsung, the upcoming Poco F7 looks like the hardware champion to get, if you can hold your horses for another 10 days or so.

Recently got a Samsung A36 5G 256 GB for my Dad, for use as his secondary phone. The primary phone remains the iPhone 16. The Samsung A36 is a sweet deal and Dad is liking the bigger screen.

I think Nothing got a bit adventurous with their new phone. I actually do like the phone with it's quirky (weird) camera placements and the dot matrix style display on the back.

But 80k just blew my mind away.

Guess I'll hold onto my Nothing 2 for a year more.

The design is something that didn't sit right with me. But that's personal preference.

But, since the start of Nothing, we've never heard 80K and Nothing in the same sentence. That'll take a bit of time for it to register in the brain.

The Glyph Matrix display I feel has very less application when compared to the outgoing Glyph Lights. But that's to be seen first-hand I guess

5 Android updates. That's pretty good. They're one of the strong guys in the software department. Let's see what the future holds.

Maybe, a few years down the lane when I plan on upgrading my CMF Phone (1), the Nothing Phone (4) could be in my consideration list!

Bonkers pricing for what it offers compared to other Android peers. Infact the MRP is listed as 84999/-
Major cons
1. 8s Gen 4 chipset- not flagship, Iqoo neo 10 offers it at about 30K
2. 3x periscope sensor is worse than what Nothing itself offers in their cheaper model 3a
3. LTPS display against LTPO - refresh rate will not go till 1Hz.
4. Probably the smallest Silicon carbide battery at 5500 mah
5. USB 2.0 against latest 3.0

No wonder it will see major discounts and probably retail at ~50K in few months.

Hi Oxy and Nova,
Please let us know your thoughts on Oneplus 13S after few weeks of usage.

Background: I have been an iphone user since iphone 4. Currently use iphone 12 (64gb). I have maintained its storage at 54-55gb with it also containing all my data from previous iphone 8. Last android was Samsung Galaxy S2 (2012). I am very open to switching to android. Need atleast 128gb which i believe can last for another 5 years in my case.
I cannot go beyond the compact form factor of 13s/ s24/ s25/ iphone 12-16. I would rather pay a little premium to get the compact phone.
I know oneplus 13s comes with its cons which I can live with except probably wireless charging which I use almost everytime in my car. I hate dangling cables in car. Looking for clean OS as well.
Budget - Max 50K. I have s24 and 13s in consideration. s25 is beyond budget, and so would be the new upcoming iphone as well.
Not looking for iphone 16 since i don't find any feature as a massive improvement for my usecase. My daily usage involves internet browsing, youtube, some banking apps, office teams and outlook. I have no music apps, no gaming apps.

Thank you.

Hi Bane. The 13s is my dad's current daily driver. We got the 12+512 variant in Green color. It's a pretty solid phone. The UI is pretty clean, except for a few extra apps like Netflix and FB pre-installed but can be uninstalled.

Battery is solid, lasts him about 24hrs on a light to medium usage. The camera could be better, but I'm not complaining. Comes with a case in the box, screen protector pre-installed, charger in the box. 80W charging is quick so I don't think the wireless charging part for you should be a problem.

A plus point I would also consider is that OnePlus offers free green line support for the phone, that is a big sigh of relief. We also have a OnePlus 10R in the house and no green lines on that.

I'd say go ahead and get it. It's a no-nonsense phone with good performance for day-to-day usage and a solid battery life.

Cheers!
