Hey Khanak,

I do not have the Z 5500, but i have the 2.1 equivalent; the Z2300.

I was really looking forward to getting these speakers and had read superb 10on10 reviews all over the place.
However, when they finally arrived i was dissapointed that the bass was very boomy. Almost like too much reverb on the low frequencies if you know what i mean! In addition to that the highs were kinda tinny. The bass issue *might* be something to do with the acoustics of my room, but i think not.

The Klipsch audio speakers ALWAYS win th #1 editors choice in every comparison. (Not sure which model though!) so i would definitely look at those.

Quite frankly though, you might just want to save some money and go in for the sada 5.1 creative speakers and they might be just as good as these at half the cost.

@Tribute

Headphones are what you stuff in your ear.
Stereo setup is what u have(with left and rights speakers)
2.1 is a subwoofer added to above configuration
4.1 is 4 speakers(front left/right and side left/right) + Sub
5.1 is 4.1 + a centre front channel(usually kept above/below the monitor)
6.1 is a 5.1 + a rear speaker
n 7.1 is the grand daddy with 1 front channel, 2 at the front(left/right), 2 at the sides and 2 at the back.

PS: i've mentioned 4.1 with side speakers rather than rear. I'm sure many will diagree.. but as far as i kno its 7.1 which have rear speakers + side.

Ciao

Like i said earlier khanak, the Logitech were praised to the hilt. Donno if it was the expectation of something so perfect that dissapointed me when i finally heard them.

Stil i'd advise u to listen to the speakers before you buy them(as listening tastes are very subjective)

Btw are kilpsch availabe in india.. with the bill n warranty i mean?

And if u are getting speakers from outside.. try the gigaworks s700(5.1)
its the same as gigaworks 7.1 but jst 2 satellites missing.
The added tweeters over the megaworks might do the sound a bit good.
And the sytem can be upgraded by adding 2 more satellites(also sold seperately).
