Hi dante,
I have an Air with me and I'm absolutely in love with it. My requirements were the same as your's . The wifi is simply brilliant and I siggest you to go for it and also advise you to take the Superdrive to play the Cd's you want to .

Does anyone know if car chargers are available for the aluminium macbooks? If yes, roughly how much do they cost?
Thanks,

Yep if you're not power hungry. And I suggest dont go in for the SSD its a waste of money.

@quickdraw mcgraw
SSD may be expensive, but it sure is much faster, quieter, and longerlasting than HDD..
No moving parts in SSD translate to longer life and thus, your data is less likely to get 'lost'..

@akp
The belkin inverter should cost you about 2000 rupees, with warranty..
I'm planning to get one too, as soon as I install a lighter socket in my gypsy

SSD HD is faster to read, but slower to write.

My PC of 8 year vintage finally crashed yesterday - I am not a PC expert, I just use the things - and this gave me the chance to finally switch to Apple. I thought the Macbook was just the thing, the i Mac was good too, but with the need for a UPS and loss of some portability even using at home, it did not suit me so well, though it is a lovely design. I got a Macbook at noon today, and out of the box it started working with my old hardware like printers, and the net too, with zero glitches, in 15 minutes. Nice!
The magic mouse has just come into the store, I think I will pick that up too. At this time I have not bought the extended protection plan, at close to Rs 13k, I was not sure it was worth it. Is it?
How sweet to not have to keep virus definitions updated all the time!

Thanks ladak.imran.
I just checked ebay, it is 1590/- plus postage. I will probably get it from Nehru place here in Delhi, but the price should be similar if not cheaper.

Run fast, if you miss it you will pay a real heavy price.

Macs are very good under the protection plan.
If you have to change anything with a price it would be a bomb !
