Racing cockpit for racing sims GT4, Rfactor etc.

I am planning to do DIY for a racing cockpit to use my Logitech G25 wheel. If the DIY is not possible, I might get it built by a carpenter. I plan to use only wood for this, but i am not sure how planted this would be without a metal frame when playing aggressively. I will be playing GT4, Rfactor and other racing sims on this one. Has anyone here done something like this before?
Here are some pictures which i have gathered from the net and i plan to make something similar. There are more sophisticated designs available, but i chose the simplest as i can get it made easily. Suggestions are welcome.
