Congrats razor. Make sure you also get some good set of speaker and connection cables (Monster etc) to get the best out of this system. The ones supplied as OEM are of poor quality.

Audio from the DVD can be routed to the receiver via a coax/optical cable.
Now I know this is possible... my question is, can this result in video and audio getting out of sync, since they are being routed differently?

Also, is there any recommended online seller of cables (optical/coaxial, subwoofer wires, speaker wires, component cables etc) based in India?
Yes that is the option you have to use. Audio/video sync might be there, but should be negligible. Usually receivers have a system of compensating for this. Check if this receiver has that option.

Try ebay India. Best is to get to your local area shops and procure it. It is cheaper that way.

Congrats Razor. Welcome ot the Onkyo club. Me too! I have been enjoying ONKYO SIGHT & SOUND INDIA package for the last 2/3 years. The only sore point is that this needed a 110V transformer kit.
Good package overall and I dont use the receiver video output. I connect my video directly to the TV and i have not noticed any sync issues. Either its not there or am not noticing it. Congrats again.

Yup, I have the following on my list:
1. Speaker wire (will look for something less than 16 gauge)
2. Component video cable
3. Optical OR Coaxial audio cable
4. Subwoofer cable

That's great to know. But I am curious... why did you need the transformer kit?

P.S: I actually already belonged to the Onkyo club... owned the HTS-570 5.1 setup back in the US.
It was sadly too bulky to ship back to India.

The kit i bought in India still had the 110v input (maybe they imported some US kits at that time) and hence needed a transformer

Projector for home theater

Hi folks,

I am considering a projector for my home theater system.

It is the BenQ MP510 - DLP projector. Any views on this one? It is available for 32,000 + 12.5% VAT.

Johy, i seriously recommend you take a look at Notevision projectors from Sharp. I work with HP and we used to use HP projectors until recently. We upgraded to Notevision now. The pic clarity and sharpness is just mindblowing.

Hey, that's the same one that I bought! Finally got delivery yesterday (EZone was a week behind schedule!).
Fellow BHPian vrooooooom also bought the same system. Helped him set it up and we had a small testing session. Didn't have an ideal HT testing DVD, but whatever we heard was very promising. Tried out a DVD, radio, Ipod and regular TV out (from cable). SQ, as netarchie said, was excellent, and it can get down and dirty on the SPL too

I'll be setting up my system soon... pics and a better report then.
