I have the following setup:

Display: 60" Sony KDS-A2000 SXRD projection TV. It was flat out the best image in the market of all TVs.

Blu Ray/DVD: Playstation 3. I don't use it for gaming. its flat out of the best Blu Ray and DVD players out there with the latest system updates

Dish 622: HDTV satellite receiver

Denon AVR 3802 receiver. DOesn't have HDMI, doesn't have the Dolby TrueHD, but its built like a tank, it performs brilliantly and makes modern Denons looks cheap and flimsy.

Carver A-500x Power amplifier to drive the front speakers (which are power hungry monsters, this puts out close 500watts per channel actual in to their low impedance, measured by an EE buddy of mine)

Front Speakers: NHT 2.9

Center Speaker: NHT AudioCenter-2

Side and rear speakers:4 x NHT 1.5

Subwoofers: 2 x NHT SubTwoi running in stereo configuration, with LFE blended into both Subs

Regards
Subwoofer controller: NHT SSC. external stereo controls for two subwoofers in stereo or mono configuration, with ability to control phase from 0-360°, low pass and high pass frequencies, LFE blend level, overall output, and a "contour" control that lets you optimize output vs extension.

Didn't see this until today... These are good stuff though a tad overpriced for what they offer.

I guess thats the price one pays for looks. Anthony Gallo loudspeakers are more of a lifestyle system than an audiophile one.

Well I went to Bose to find out about the stands that they sell for the speakers. Can anyone take a guess at how much a pair of speaker stands cost ??? It was 10k. Absolute nonsense. Who would pay 10K for a pair of stands. And the wall bracket was 1688/- a piece !!!

Now where can i get a decent speaker stand. I have Bose cube speakers. Btw, I didn't buy Bose in India... got a real cheap deal in the US of A.

I dont know how they review stands for the sound quality they produce. Its meaningless, I read it on Whats Hi-Fi? How could a pair of stands help the sound?

^^Heh heh for a high end bookshelf, a sturdy high quality stand is like life support . Stands make a hell of a lot of difference.

sturdy damped stands are essential for any small speaker.

Hi guys,
I'm getting Onkyo's HT-SR600 HTiB system for 19.99K at Reliance Digital.
But was uanble to get a good demo because...
A. It was coupled with a Mitashi DVD player (just imagine Mitashi with Onkyo!)
B. Interconnects were a pair of RCA stereo and one RCA video (should have been digital)
C. The only CD they had for demo was Sawariya audio cd...could not try DVDs as it was'nt connected to a TV
D. When I asked for a catalogue or some write-up, I was handed over a brochure which listed many AV receivers but this model was not there...

Now, could anybody tell me whether it's good enough (i know this "enough" is very subjective but anyway...), especially at this price of 20K?
Here's the link for more details:

@Anuragn, I have Onkyo HT-508 ( 5.1 channel) which i bought 1.5 years ago. I was talking to the Onkyo service guy yesterday and he was mentioning that this particular model is receiving a lot of complaints. And, he was praising the HT-508 model which he mentioned sold like hot cakes and is currently out of production. i had gotten it for 26K at that time.

So check with previous owners before plonking your money

Thanks mobike008,
Would surely gather some feedback before taking the plunge.
Anyway, you've got a decent system, looking at it's specs, especially the 230W powered sub.

ravitsp: Where are you getting it at?
Regarding price:
SR-800 is available for $400 in the US which converts to Rs16K. Hence46K seems to be too expensive, compared to SR-600 which is available for $250 is selling for Rs20K in India (at reliance digital)
Hence, try to search for some good deals, I'm sure it should not cost more than double that of it's dollar price.
