I am sorry but I really am highly irritated by this Kindle bookstore thing. I want to purchase books legally for low prices but I need to purchase a Kindle device for it. |

Regarding the discussion of whether you actually own the book, it is debatable. |

I am sure one day we will wake up to a brave new world where DRM is not there for any kind of media. Till then, I believe Kindle is a good compromise - given how extensive their library is. |

Why do you need Kindle device? I read my Kindle books on PC, my Phone, or iPad when I don't have my Kindle with me. Kindle app is available for every platform. |

I cannot read the Kindle book on my Kobo Glo right? |

For me Kobo can't be a option. I have 100s of Kindle books purchased over 4 years, most of them have DRM protection. It is worse than switching dSLR system, where one can at least sell the equipment. |

The paperwhite price is back to being 11,000 instead of 9,000 a month or so ago. Any idea when if / when the discount will be back ? |

Say I was reading a book on Kindle. Then I go to pick up my son, and need to wait in the car. I open the same book on my smartphone and continue reading. Later I come home and back to the same book on PC. My bookmark is preserved when I switch between devices. |

Don't know how this is so cheap, generally retails for ~10k. If you're in the market for a e-reader, you should get this (at this price). The seller rep seems good too. http://www.ebay.in/itm/271641359598?...edirect=mobile |

Aaand I got the Kobo Glo. Thanks to this deal that PrateekM had posted This is my first e-book reader and I love it. The option to turn on/off the light is nice. Perfect for reading on those travels and for reading without bothering anyone else. |

Thank you Prateek and naveen - I was fence sitting for a long time to invest in a E-Reader (Kindle paperwhite, in fact) but this deal clinched it for me and I brought it (Kobo Glo) today from oddlots_electronics. Now the wait starts to get it in my hands. @Naveen: Can you post a review since you have been using this for some time now? --Anoop |
