Congrats! A couple of my colleagues have it, and I loved it. They have the non-3g version though.

Guess it's not that expensive. A friend was selling a 16gb one for 25k.

Hey I am planning to buy a 32GB one , will be looking forward for full review from your side.
How easy or difficult is the software interface to transfer the pdf , pictures , music etc in ipad ?
I find iTunes for ipod quite irritating and hassle to use . Is it similar or any better .
I played with iPad for couple of hours in an Apple store. I am totally in love with it and don't think its ipod touch on steroids or something , even if it is its one heck of a gadget to keep.

Just seen the detailed demo of the iPad.

I feel its great for general browsing, video viewing, as a GPS (with a data card)
, the multi touch interface seems very good for flipping, zooming, moving etc.. Nice LED screen etc..

However what I don't feel great about is when it comes to typing. For the following reasons.

The onscreen keypad does not seem to be ergonomically a good thing.
1. You can place it flat on the table and type, just as you would on a laptop. However in that position I see 2 pitfalls.
- The screen clarity might not be good since its almost 90 degrees from your eyes
- Again for your neck and back they say your monitor should be at eye level (Ergonomic problem in the long run)

2. You place it inclined against some object so that its similar to a laptop screen angle
- Here it would strain your wrists when typing as you would have to type at an angle.

3. They have promoted iBooks in a big way, and given the ease of procuring an e-book i.e. via their interface of shopping/ flipping thru etc. you would be tempted to buy many online books.
Here again my personal opinion, reading a book on an LED screen would strain your eyes for no reason, you are better off reading the paper version

Barring this its a good device. I would say for travel its an ideal device.
But for me while on the internet/comp I spend min 40% in typing/updating something, which does not seem much suited with an iPad.

The starting sale price in US is $499 for the 16GB base model. I don't think you will get it here for 25K unless it is a "distress/friendly sale" by individuals.

As an e-book, its useless. The backlit screen will start hurting your eyes.

kindle uses light that falls on it from outside, like a real paper, or an old LCD watch. hence easy readability.

ipad is just a big ipod touch .not worth the price and the way apple markets it as a mini computer rival .

I own 3 apple products and have used ipad for a week . just know some of its disadvantages

no cam for video chats ,skype
no adobe flash thats used by countless websites
no mms card slot
No multitasking
No GPS receiver
no usb port
unremovable battery
no osx
itunes sucks
name sounds like some ladies hygienic product
cant save music,vids from internet
have to convert all videos to mp4,mov like ipods . so to watch some movie you spend half n hour or so just converting it to right format
