In Nexus S (Gingerbread), you can set alarm tone as well as Vibration against each alarm. Here you can also disable vibration for certain alarm and enable for some! Try going into alarm, check if you have option in it.

Guys

I have tried some changes to increase the battery life in my LG O1

Removed the Live wall paper
Reduced the display brightness
Used the pre installed 'Task killer' application 4 times

I think this worked out. Now @ 3 pm, the mobile shows 88% battery left (Yesterday, it was 66 %. Both days the mobile was charged full)

Just got it. Here is what i did:
1) Go to "desk Clock"
2) scrolled to "Alarm'
3) Selected the alarm for which I wanted to disable the vibrator
4) Long press on that alarm, which opens the settings for that particular alarm
5) scroll down and go to "vibrate" - uncheck . Done !!
6) repeat for different alarms.

Thanks Raguholla. This option doesn't pop up when we go till step 2 and then click on "MENU" button and then "settings" option on the phone.

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

How do I see the total number of SMS/MMS sent from a phone running Android 2.1?

I can only the see the total UP time, which is under the Battery Status.

In my phone these are the two items that eats up most of the battery!

Android system - 45%
Cell standby - 20%
Others are display, phone idle, maps, compass etc.

Thanks for the inputs.

I did try this out and now it works fine. Go to settings=>wireless and network=>USB settings=> select "ask on connetion"

After this, once you connect your phone to the car HU, it will prompt you for the connection type and you can chose "mass storage" and tap to connect.

After this you will be able to search for songs, navigate folders etc, it plays fine. I have about 2GB of songs in my phone's internal SD card on my Galaxy S. As you might know, the internal card size is about 13GB.

Is the desire hd a cdma phone ? I am looking to change too....

Saw the desire HD and desire at croma yesterday retailing for 27800 and 26900 each (approx)

Also saw the optimus but compared to the htc's the LG didn't cut it in terms of looks. Retails around 12500 at croma.

Galaxy S is not available anywhere - discontinued they say. Can we get some old piece lying somewhere ?

The Desire HD is a GSM phone. The prices you mentioned seem incorrect. I checked at Croma last week and the Desire was around 23700 while the Desire HD was somewhere around 31000.

Why not get it at an online retailer ? Flipkart is pretty good in service and they both retail for about 22k and 26k approx.

About Galaxy S , it will soon be relaunched very soon as SL Galaxy S and will come with a SLCD screen instead of AMOLED. No clue about pricing for now though

AFAIK, Android phones dont have CDMA models. I may be wrong though, but I havent seen them in India till date.

You can also check out LG's Optimus, it ticks all your needs, runs on Andriod Froyo and retails around 12k I guess.
