Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I am planning to ditch my Xperia Ion, for either a Z ultra, or a T1 Ultra.
I don't really need a waterproof phone.
The Ion is a 1.5GHz dual, 1gb, the T2 is 1.4 quad, and the z is 2.2 quad.
I'm mostly on Email, TBHP, FB, whatsapp, Chrome, 9G, the usual. No heavy apps, except occasionally CSR and others like that.
Th Ion used to hang. You think a 1.4 is sufficient, and I can safely use it for the next year? I think there is a price difference of about 10k(?). Would the t2 be a better bet, all things considered?
Either phone will not be kept for more than a year or year and a half.
help!

Seems to be a SIM issue only. My 2 friends are using Reliance GSM SIM in MOTO G without any issue.

Does the Phone shows No SIM Error on inserting the Reliance SIM? Lot of time Cut SIMs give issue if they are not propoerly aligned. New Original Micro SIM should not be giving this Issue. Hope the New SIM is the Micro GSM one and not CDMA one by Mistake.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I don't use a smart phone. I am planning to buy one now. My son (14 years) also wants one. Is it possible to install some kind of PG software, or restrict access to websites on these?

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Need to buy a new phone for my cousin sister. Budget is within 15k. Android only.
Narrowed down the options to Moto G, Samsung S4 mini and grand 2 (although both will cost more around 20k).

Usage is pretty basic. Please suggest.

Any reason for not considering Moto E. If usage is basic, Moto E with 16gb card will be enough. Of-course you can't have video conf.

It appears to be out of stock on Flipkart. How is the camera in Moto G? Otherwise it pretty much fits the expected usage pattern. Else I am leaning towards the grand 2.

Yes, Moto E is proving difficult to source. Moto G is alright if your sister can live without the expandable memory.

If you are not bothered about the brand, then check this out:

http://www.amazon.in/XOLO-Q3000-Xolo...438507&sr=1-21

Here's a review on the above by a fellow BHPian, who also happens to own a Galaxy Grand:

Check this out too, a new launch:

If none of the above appeals to you, only then buy the Moto G or the Grand 2.

You can also consider Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, specs are similar to Grand 2 but size is compact.

Guys, the Moto E is back in stock on Flipkart.

Choosing between the Samsung's and the Moto G, I'd pick the Moto anyday, unless you want the bigger screen of the Grand. Samsung's touchwiz really slows the phone down and spoils the whole experience.

Sorry but the link says Out of Stock. Now don't tell me that the fresh stocks vanished within five minutes.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Stick to the G. I have extensively used my colleagues' phones (2 of them) along with my Note 1, and Note 10.1 2014 Tab and am very impressed by the zero lag and neat clean Kitkat interface.

Buy one of the original Moto flip covers and you are set for a pretty long time to come :-)

Needed New BST-41 Battery for Xperia X10

Last time I got cheated while buying Battery for Xperia X10.
So thought of asking here before going to buy another one.

Which of the following is Genuine Battery to go for--
1) Ebay.in Sony Ericsson BST- 41 Battery for Xperia X10 (reliableenterprise, Mumbai) Rs. 1380/- + Rs. 40/- Shipping = Rs. 1420/-

2) Ebay.in Sony Ericsson BST- 41 Battery for Xperia X10 (krish2_infotech, Ahmedabad) Rs. 999/- + Free Shipping = Rs. 999/-

3) Ebay.in Sony Ericsson BST- 41 Battery for Xperia X10 (bestgadget, Mumbai) Rs. 990/- + Rs. 45/- Shipping = Rs. 1035/-

Please help in deciding the correct one.
Thanks.
