Got a Motorola Moto G2 for my wife at 10k. Lovely unit. I think it is excellent value for money.

And I sold my wife's Moto G for 5.5K last week. She has switched to Samsung S5.

Actually I felt the same earlier, and thus I compared the two phones in GSMArena and there are quite a lot of things different :

- 4.6 inch screen instead of Z1C's 4.3 inch, not a big difference but leads to a 70% screen ratio whereas Z1C has 61%.

- About 15% longer battery life in any situation.

- Shatterproof glass in the back for Z3C, Z1C had toughened plastic.

- Nylon-plastic corner panels for Z3C to prevent chipping.

- 9 grams lighter than Z1C.

-Has only 2 port flaps compared to Z1C's 3, hence less chance of them loosening.

- The biggest issue - the Z1C's flash was too close to the lens thus in low-light conditions the flash used to spread partially to the picture, Sony accepting the issue has pushed the flash away by half inch in Z3C and now the problem isn't there anymore.

Where did you sell it? And was it the 8gb variant or the 16gb variant?

The 8GB variant. It was sold to some Manipal student, by advertising on local listing. I don't know the details, my staff did it.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Guys, is the ASUS ZENFONE 2 ZE551ML worth the price? Liked the looks - only battery life seems to be an issue. Hopefully to be fixed in Lollipop 5.1. Or should I go for the HTC Desire 820?

Rather, you can go for ZE550ML - couple of grands cheaper - same configuration minus the full hd screen which I don't think will be a priority.

Ordered the aging Samsung S4 in deep black trim off amazon for my mother last evening. The S4 still seems to be a lot more bang for the buck compared the its newer E / A series siblings.

Why not the LG G3? At 20k totally worth it. How much for the S4?

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I found out that my dad's HTC One M7 was still running Android 4.2.2
I wasn't that shocked and thought that he may have ignored all the software update notifications that may have popped up.
But to my surprise when I manually checked for software updates in the settings menu it said that no new updates were available.

How can this be possible? And what should I do to rectify this?

S4 is a fantastic phone and the price its being sold at currently, its a great steal. My wife has been using S4 since it was launched. The camera, the screen, the performance and even the sound output is all terrific. And with the recent upgrade to Lollipop 5.0.1, its also very much up to date with all other latest flagships in terms of OS features.

Hi all my old gen Moto G has developed a glitch from today morn. It does not display any images, videos or ringtones stored in the phone when viewed in gallery or settings but can be accessed via WhatsApp or file manager. Any solutions to get things back to normal without a factory reset? TIA

Wanted to stick to Samsung for brand value and its ultra wide service network, else OPO is most VFM.

True, my brother paid about 36K + blackberry exchange for his S4 exactly two years back, and besides one visit to the service centre for faulty hardware in the 10th month, its been working quite well for him. I had frozen on the E5 till I realized how much more value the S4 brought to the table.

My brother has had occassional hiccups on the 5.0.1 update, most user reviews on gsmarena suggest that the phone was much smoother on 4.4.2 Kitkat. I wonder if the Deep Black comes loaded with 4.2 or 4.4, it would be awesome to stick to 4.4.2 for a couple of months till Samsung brings the bug fixes.
