Yes right Marshmallow.

Actually my wife's Moto E is on Android KitKat which hasn't been updated to Lollipop, Some confusion is my mind . My father's Moto G2 is still on Lollipop

Have ordered a Moto G3 16GB Model for her under exchange (Moto E) Plus 10% SBI discount.

Hope it comes with Marshmallow out of the box. If not then should i update to Marshmallow and then factory reset before installing all the Apps & Contacts ?

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Hi,

I have a OnePlus One (64GB) running on CM 12.1.1 and I'm having trouble rooting my phone. I would like to revert to CM 11 or Oxygen OS as CM 12 is a battery hog and on the slower side.

Have installed Samsung's USB drivers and upon using command prompt "ADB devices" does detect my phone. However, after this in BootStrap Mode my phone is not detected. Please help.

Have tried restarts and reinstalling the drivers but nothing seems to work.

Thanks.

Looks clean. I have the same OS on my MotoX Style for over three months, so expect no real issues. Also, remember Moto is (almost) pure Android, so chances of manufacturer inserted bugs are not that high.

Any reviews for Moto G turbo? I like the plain vannila android experience of Moto and is inclined to it. Any other suggestions in similar price range? Thanks!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Moto G2 - upgraded to Marshmallow. Running smooth. No bugs reported. 5th day today. Battery life increased by 12 to 15%. Update was installed WITHOUT a factory reset. Minimally faster and smoother too.

2 Moto G3 Turbo in the house. 3 more amongst colleagues. AMAZING. Painful for those who bought it at 14.5k . At 12k (recent sale) or 12.5k - superb phone.
Stock android. No bloatware this time AT ALL. Most Motorola apps like Migrate, Assist etc. also gone.
Screen - good. Camera - excellent. Speakers - excellent.
Battery - STELLAR. And the quick charge REALLY works. Boon.
Another boon is the waterproofing. Life-saver.
Motion gestures for torch and camera work 98% of the times. Instantly.
Multi-tasking - excellent (trust me, my phone is LOADED)

Cons - a tad too 'broad' for my liking. Not thick, mind you. Broad.
Only other thing I miss is a 'fingerprint' sensor.
My other phone is a Nexus 5 and except for the camera and waterproofing it still performs brilliantly! and is slimmer too!

Disclaimer: Have had 2 Moto G1s in the home (one still survives), 2 Moto G2s and now 2 Moto G3 Turbo (absolutely co-incidental)
Immediate friends and colleagues - 8 Moto G2s and 3 Moto G3 & G Turbos.
NO complaints from ANY of them. These are pure workhorses. Last well and the job well too!

Can you kindly let us know the difference between MOTO G2 TURBO and MOTO G3

Wifey wants to upgrade from MOTO G2. Phone needs to be DUAL SIM.

Are both the SIM Slotes 4G Active in both the phone models ?

As per my understanding, MOTO G3 has Snapdragon 410 Chipset, whereas MOTO G2 TURBO had Snapdragon 615 chipset.

Will the chipset make any difference.

Waiting your feedback.

It's Moto G3 & Moto G Turbo (which is technically Moto G3 TURBO)
They are the SAME. Not G2 Turbo (no such thing).
chipset is better. & processors are twice the quantity. Quad core v/s Octa core.
Another important element is the FAST charging. It really works and helps.
These are the ONLY 2 differentiating factors.
For a mere 1.5k more you get these 2 additional benefits.

SIM slots - both are the same. With dual-sim active standby. I have not tried 4G - but 3G works in BOTH the sim slots.

Hope this answers your queries.

Thanks buddy for your comments.

As per your recommendation, we should go for the following one

http://www.amazon.in/Motorola-Moto-T...s=moto+g+turbo

And not the one here

http://www.flipkart.com/moto-g-3rd-g...78528&srno=b_1

Will definitely explore the choice.

Appreciate your attention

Do you really need to 'root' the device to install CM 11? Even I have OPO and couple of times i have gone back to previous versions of SW, just by booting the device in 'recovery' mode and then installing the SW. I always download the SWs and keep it in the 'root' folder so that recovery mode can see these SW files. If your query is something else, then ignore my message.

Why you want to go to CM11, why not CM13?

When you say phone is not detecting, how did you test it?
Did you by any chance use 'adb' commands, such as 'adb devices' to check if phone is connecting while phone being in bootloader?
If yes, you need to use fastboot, try 'fastboot devices' see if it shows your device.

Final question, why is CM12 is battery hog? Is there a difference with your phone usage with CM12 compared to CM11 (extra apps, different settings etc)?

Perfect!
Both available on Flipkart as well as Amazon.
Offers keep pouring from time to time.
12k is the lowest it has been priced. (without exchange)
Usually available at 12.5k

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Anyone using Nexus 6P? Please share your brief review. I am looking for good battery backup and premium feel of the phone and enjoy stock Android. I will not use it for gaming - just calls/SMS/WA - so basically light to medium use. No FB/Twitter either.

Currently using a 6 month old Moto G3 (2015). Hope wifey doesn't see this post :(

I've been using one for a little over a month now and I am very happy with the phone. Moved from a Moto X 1st Gen. and got used to the size also surprisingly fast. My usage is more on the heavy side and with 3G all day, location services on, I get ~4 hours 'screen on' time, which gets me through a 'full' day. The USB C quick charging makes things even better.

I find the phone's edges are a little too sharp and would have prefered them rounded. I've got a transparent case on that I'm quite happy with. I've read the metal body scratches easily, so guess the case helps protect it too!

Lastly, the camera has really impressed me, especially low light photography. Check out these samples below.

Having been on iOS since 2011 and having seen some of the popular and expensive
android phones over the last few years i want sure.

I paid 62K INR for the 64GB iphone 6 in 2014 but what do i get in return ?
1- You need to buy a power bank to make up for the pathetic battery
2-you need to spend 3K INR and get a spare charger for the workplace
3- yes , it is a smartphone , but trying using it like one and your phone just drains battery. Hence, you need to switch mobile data only for that particular app

Without a charger , this is one expensive paper weight that you carry around

Last week , my phone screen was shattered beyond repair and hence i was looking around for another one. The Nexus 6P met all my criteria on paper and hence decided on the 64GB aluminum one. Bought for 40.5K INR from Amazon with a same day delivery option. And yeah , amazon has this superb Return facility which you can opt for within 10 days of receiving the phone

What i liked in the last one week :

1- Battery back up- i do not have to carry a charger in my pocket wherever i go nor do i have to keep switching off mobile data every now and then
2- looks good , though the black strip for the rear camera looks a bit out of place. Fit n finish is awesome , though the iphone felt more premium
3- The android experience. Being a Google product , this phone gets the latest updates much before others
4- fast charging. I see close to 90%charge in less than a hour
5- Driving apps- I see so many driving apps
6- Camera - everyone says the iOS cameras are better , i couldn't make out. Looks very good to me though

What i didnt like so much :

1- the size. Its big !! And its feels slippery as well
2- my workplace doesn't support Android devices for BYOD. So its webmail to check offici emails
3- iOS feels better than Android.
4-i am not confident about doing card payments on an android. Will use the iPad or the laptops for this
4- you need to carry the very short USB C type to type A cable ( provided in the box ) to charge in the car

Having said all this , i would say this is the phone to consider. For 40K INR , thisdefinitely better most of the features of the more expensive iOS devices.
