I use a Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE, which is still on Android 5.0
I have always been using Google for my contacts/calendar for quite sometime

For the past one fortnight I have noticed that new contacts stored (on Google) disappear from the phone!
When I search for the saved name it is non-existent, but the logs are present for the 'unsaved' number. :Frustrati

Has anybody faced this problem?

I am facing the exact same issue.

I think it has something to do with Androids latest update.

I use a Nexus 5. Adroid 6.0.1.

Will update when i get additional info on the same.

I faced this issue when I used more than one phone synced to the same google account.

Can you check if you have such a scenario ?

In that case, I turned off contacts sync in one phone and things were normal.

How's the reliability of infocus and cool pad brands? I am tempted to buy redmi note 3 in today's sale though :)

Yes, a couple of years ago, so possible not a latest-update thing.

I tend to really multi-task a lot so sometimes it feels a little heated up but so did the nexus 4. Hence I'm not complaining.

I would rather not have very high expectations with the camera on a sub-10k phone.

Overall, its been good one week with redmi note 3. The fingerprint scanner is a really handy feature and the overall speed feels good. The 4050 mAh battery holds up really well and I have ended the day at almost 75% with 3G on, location on with frequent screen on-off to check whatsapp etc. I'll share more feedback once we have had spent quality time with each other.

No, I have only one phone synced to Google.

Could it be because of SyncMe?
Ever since FaceBook stopped syncing contacts, I have been using SyncMe to keep my FaceBook contacts synced with my contacts - though I had not encountered the 'contacts disappearing' so far!

I am happy with my Redmi Note 3. The phone does heats up when I play VR videos, but during normal operation, it don't heat up much. I can say that during similar usage, my old Moto G used to heat up more than Note 3.

Camera is definitely good for the price range.

But the definitive plus point is the battery - no more worry about power-banks or battery drain. This is a proper 24 hour in a charge phone.

How is it compared to 'Nexus 4'. I am looking for a worthy replacement for my 'Nexus 4'. Are these chinese phones as good as the one's from LG and their likes.

Also, from where did you purchase redmi note 3?

Nothing (I mean, phone) is better than a Nexus except a Nexus, at least for me. No other phone can give you that freedom to change roms, latest updates and stock android experience. I was running android 6 on nexus 4 even before some of my friends could update their phones to android 5.x.x. And if you can do without the aforementioned points, then read further.

Redmi Note 3 is good in the sense that the overall experience is fast and fluid. When multi-tasking I don't miss my nexus 4, so redmi does a fairly good job here. The 2GB ram so far is doing fine, though sometimes only 500mb or so are free even when I'm not running too many applications. I have yet to experience any lag but the free ram figure is surely less than what I had in N4 in similar circumstances.

Other than that, the battery is holding up really well for my usage. The build quality is quite good, especially the metal finish on the back. The screen is definitely way better than the washed out experience of N4. Size though is a little big because in my view 4.7 is the best for day-to-day usage.

Storage and battery are the biggest plus for me and I've yet to miss my N4. I think besides Moto G3, this is a good buy in the budget phone range with good specs.

NB: I got it from Amazon flash sale.

So here's my problem:
Current Phone: Xiaomi MI4I
Current ROM: MIUI 7.1.1
Current Recovery: TWRP (The Problem begins here)

Problem: The Current ROM has some issues with Wi-Fi connectivity. The connectivity is poor when the Wi-Fi signal strength is low. Never happened with the previous version of MIUI.

I believe that MIUI has provided an solution to this in the new update.

What I want to do: Update the MIUI rom version. For this, I need MI's stock recovery. If I do this with the TWRP recovery, it'll wipe out all my data.

What I need help for: How do I flash the Mi-Recovery?

TIA for your help. :)

Its easy with MIUI. just find the stock rom that you need from en.miui.com. it will be a zip file. place it under downloaded_rom folder under the home directory. go to the updater and select "choose update package". this will ensure user data is retained and only miui is updated or downgraded.

Disclaimer: as always tread with caution. take backup etc and i cant be held responsible for any bad outcomes from following above steps.

My wife have one and she is happy with the performance. Her phone is connected to wifi 24\7 and she uses facebook\whatsapp etc a lot (no gaming, no movies\songs etc) and the battery lasts 24 hour.

Thanks Buddy!
I was converted to I Phone finally by two heavy user friends of mine.
Bought a 5S from Amazon. Stretched my self and willing to not change for another 4 years..

Thanks much for sharing your experience.

Maverick
