Even S7 had dual SIM- the micro sd slot double up as the 2nd SIM slot.

Exactly. The details talk on a single SIM only. I am getting confused.

Indian model S8/+ is only available as a Dual (hybrid) Sim slot, same as S7/Edge. You must be confusing it with US edition one which has a single sim + sd card slot.

Seems like your assumption was true . I disabled the said option in moto gestures and no more surprises afterwards.

Thanks a ton as i was thinking of taking it to service center.

Please enable developer options if not done already. Go to developer option, select USB option and select MTP. This should enable file transfer.

What OS on the PC? Relevant for point 3 below.

1. The obvious one first, toggle 'File Transfer Mode' in the notification area after connecting USB. Android 6+ connects 'Charging Only' mode by default.

2. Disable USB debugging in developer options, and switch to MTP in USB Configuration.

3. Assuming you're using Windows, check your driver install. If you're able to connect in MTP mode and still don't see your device listed as a storage drive, go to Device Manager and look for the device. It may be listed as 'Unknown Device', 'Android Phone' or something else. Right click and choose 'Update Driver Software'.

One of these should hopefully fix it.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I myself am confused whether to upgrade from my S7, the only factor limiting this upgrade would be the size of the phone. The only reason I got the S7 & not the popular S7 Edge.

Thanks dhiraj. Then i will take a dekko. Only thing with the restrictions in UP I may have to pick it up from either Samsung or in Gurugram when I am there in a month or two.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Looks like LG G6 missed the flagship bus. Should have launched it a month or two earlier than the S8.

But still at 52k odd, it looks like a good buy.

I have the same phone and while the S8 is gorgeous, the reports of it cracking and a battery that's the same size as this one put me off. I'll wait for the OnePlus5 or even check out the LG G6. Alternatively, I'll make do with the S7 for another year

Maybe this comparison might help you decide.

Price considerations and weird fingerprints aside, the Galaxy S8 is clearly the more impressive phone. It is indeed impressive in the purely visual sense with that new full-screen display, but on the inside not so much has changed. The camera is only better by a small margin, the performance has also improved, but it’s not gotten as smooth as the standard-setting Apple iPhone or Google Pixel. The battery life is another slight improvement. We also appreciate the little things in the S8: the higher quality earbuds that come in the box, the plentiful 64GB storage and the DeX dock (sold separately) that turns the S8 into a desktop computer.

The Galaxy S8 has our subjective sympathy for its luxurious styling and display, as well as all these little things, but if you have to listen to reason alone and be completely objective, the Galaxy S7 is still a great phone on its own.

Checked the Samsung S8 and + yesterday, the phone is just superb looking and UI is much cleaner this time. Still drooling over it having seen it in flesh 😍😍
