She is currently using an iPhone 6s but wants to move to Android as she is 'bored' of the phone and it has started to give a bit of trouble as it isn't maintained that well; we have a 2 year old daughter who has manhandled it many times. Another reason is also the 'unlimited' space that Google offers for media.

Now Ive been reading a lot of reviews comparing both these phones and it seems that the One Plus 6T has the winning edge. But the Google Pixel 3 looks better and has that 'Not Pink' colour which is a hit with my wife. The Pixel 3 is also water resistant! And last but not least the Pixel 3 is priced more than double than the One Plus 6T.

Need expert advice on this please.
No question - Value is the 6T while the Pixel 3 is pure Google experience and an outright amazing camera. OnePlus generally over commits on camera. You can't do math on this.

Most of those reviews are frankly crap and are paid by either side. Try (either in store or via olx) before you buy if you are in doubt.

I have done that a few times; during the Samsung Note 2 days, but the recent ones are just brilliant IMO. My wife had been on iPhone from the 3S days and every now and then she had this urge to try something different and moved on to Samsung for brief stint (Note 3, S6 etc.) only to get back to iPhone in a couple of months. But last year she said no more iPhone and moved from her 7 plus to Note 8. All was good until the iPhone X came; the love for iPhone rekindled, and I took over the Note 8 and she got herself the X. Only to exchange back to me after a week’s usage. The change of camp was complete.
And now she had an option recontract for an XS, but happily went with a Lavender color Note 9

Being a Pixel 2 XL and iPhone user (personal and office), I would say that the switch from 2 XL / 3 XL will be quite seamless, and she will be quite at ease with the switch. But if she is someone who likes a bit of gloss, go with the Note 9. My wife preferred the latter as the camera of Pixel is a bit too real for her

Same here. This is on a Redmi Note 4. Not as much as 30% reduction, but significant enough to be concerned about. I find some improvement with GPS switched off.

Another Redmi Note 4 user here. Battery backup has gone down a notch but the overall performance seems to have gone up after the update. Though I love MIUI, I am finding the app-ads irritating and intrusive.

Yes I am facing the exact same problem with my Redmi Note 4. The phone used to run 1.5 to 2 days without charging before this update. Now it is between 1-1.5 days. The update sucks big time !.

Its something to do with the battery saver function I guess. Earlier the battery usage line used to be flat(no dip) during night (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM) when usually it is not used and the battery saver mode is enabled(battery icon changes to yellow colour). Now it shows a downward trend even though it is not used during that time.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Guys, I'm looking to buy a new phone but have been having a tough time finding one with global LTE bands. Here's what I'm looking for:

1. Dual 4G SIM support with dual standby.
2. 128GB storage option OR 32GB+ with option to expand storage with microSD slot.
3. Global LTE bands, or atleast enough to support India and North America.
4. NFC support.
5. A decent camera along the lines of the Redmi Note 5/6 Pro is enough.
6. Headphone jack is preferred, but can compromise if fast charging is available.
7. A close-to-stock UI would be preferable, but is not necessary.

My budget is preferably under 25K. I like the OP6T and the LG G7 ThinQ but they're way beyond my budget.

Help!

If you hate the A2 so much, I suggest you just sell it off on OLX for a small loss and get whichever other phone you wish to buy. You can always find someone to buy it on OLX . Put a few thousands more and you could get the Poco F1 or any other phone you wish to have.

My Nokia 6.1 plus did not work in USA which caused huge pain for me. I am not sure about the reason because this was not about 4G, normal mobile network didn't work for calls. Is there a list of phones which will work in USA and Europe? Last time I went to USA I had the pixel and had no issues

This seems strange,as the normal 2G bands should have worked for phone calls, provided you were latched on an operator, who only works on LTE ( something like Jio) and your APAC model didn't have those LTE bands.

Listing Bands for Nokia 6.1:

2G bands:GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G bands:HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G Bands: LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 28(700), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500) - EMEA & APAC
LTE band 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 12(700), 17(700), 20(800), 28(700), 38(2600) - LATAM
LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 28(700), 34(2000), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500) - Hong Kong, Taiwan

Did you buy a local sim card( which operator?) or International roaming ( with operator?).

To answer your question, regarding phone compatibility, you should be able to get the answer on the Roaming partners website.

Can you link me to the bands specification please? I've been unable to do so. Even asked via their twitter handle but received no response.

LG ThinQ has a 4 GB variant which comes to 30 K during sales (excluding Credit Card Offers and Exchange Bonuses).
One can end up having it at sub 25 K prices easily.
However, LG UI is weird.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I have an issue, whenever I connect my One Plus 6T to car's infotainment system (Maruti's Bosch system), it goes into DND mode and doesn't ring when a call comes. What could be wrong? It was not the same with One Plus 3T.
