Mine is a Sept manufactured piece so its 1.6,I believe all handsets post Dec would run 2.1.

For upgrade I I follwoed the PC suite process, did not use any external link and it worked like charm.
The Wifi issue got resolved after a reboot but I'm unable to connect to market/gmail/facebook from the apps menu ,although when I enter the URL from the browser it works fine.

Do you think there could be something wrong with the upgrade?

Is your handset a X10i or X10a? What ROM did you flash it with? Wifi issue has something to do with the choice of ROM running on the handset.
hey friends,

i also recently purchases a X10i Black, could you tell me what is the difference between a X10i & x10a,
battery life is not very good in my handset, i will try the formula of complete drain and then complete charge concept to check

Kratos. Try this.

There'd be an application called market updater. Un-install that. If that's not possible, atleast clear cache in both market updater and market.
Restart your phone.

Voila.

Also remember to use @gmail.com ID to log in to Android Market.

Do let me know after trying this.

I cant see any app installed at Settings>Applications>Manage Applications path
Is it that they are not installed or restored back once 2.1 was upgraded

That sux! But what is your usage pattern like? I mean how many hours of talking/3G data/2G data/WiFi/etc before the battery dies out?

In the manage applications path, choose filter and choose all applications. When you back up before an upgrade, the applications installed in your phone is not backed up. Rather, there's a note on your account that these were applications that were on your phone.

So when you start Android market, the earlier applications are ready to be downloaded and installed.

Filter for all applications and you should see the default applications that came with the 2.1 upgrade in that list. Chose Market updater and un-install or clear cache in that and restart your phone.
Don't clear the cache on your market as when you backed up your phone before upgrade, the details of your applications would have gone there (anyway you can always pick them up back from the micro-sd card where the back up has been stored).

Little late for that, I knew the price, cuz I brought one from that place .

Anyway, shal update how bad/good the battery life is. Let me 'run-in' the phone.

Like others had said, for that price Quench is good bundle. In case the battery is as bad as you say it is, I might have to get another charger and keep it me. That way I will not be stranded.

Shall update after a weeks use.

Are you able to log in to gmail / gtalk applications on your mobile?

Ok. This makes me think that your phone's issue is more to do with the settings now. I'm unable to comment without having a look at it. What exactly is the error message you are getting there.

This is how the sequence of update works.

Once 2.1 is installed, you got to open market with your gmail ID! Just like when you bought it brand new. Now some place, some old archaic data is messing up with your settings.

Let me know the exact error message. And over a meet, we can set this right.

anybody suffering from that fake futurebazaar order can PM me, I would now like to file a public interest litigation so they stop making false promises to public.

I just posted a review on mouthshut.

I am also calling my bank in morning to seek possibility of chargeback, 14 day's of false delivery promise,
I am done, this is just a mental harassment for me and nothing else.

futurebazaar should rename their store to stoneagebazaar, or
fakepromisebazaar atleast.

been using my htc desire for a couple of months now....absolutely amazing phone would have been flawless if they could just improve the battery life and the limited on board storage capacity for apps, especoially considering still only a percentage of apps can be stored on the sd card. The sense UI is great and guys dont forget to put swype on your android phones, there is no better way to type (...ever)
