Settled for S Advance. Looks like Atrix 2 is no longer on Sale. Tried 3 stores; 2 of them had only the display piece, no unopened box available.

Gifted it away today morning!

OT: It did not bring out the jaw dropping 'wow' effect. I guess there are too many Samsung 'Galaxy' series phone around, and they all look very similar. Should have opted for Xperia, if only it had a bigger battery.

Congratulations Spinnerr! I too am in similar dilemma. I was on the verge of buying S Advance. However, I got put off last minute by knowing the fact that its camera does not have zoom. :( For models below S II Samsung appears to be playing interesting game with Camera. In S Advance there is not zoom. If you settle for Ace Plus instead there is no flash !! Grrrr....
I am still confused. Motorola display is not as inspiring as Super AMOLEDs. Searh is ON.

I took the Note last weekend and upgraded to ICS. So far no problems. Try to reinstall it. It should solve the problem. I successfully transferred my contacts from my BB the same day.

Could you share the price you bought it at ?
Team,
What are the current street prices of S II and note ?

I got it for 32,700 from Samsung Showroom. S2 is 27,000 at the showroom.

What are the custom softwares or firmwares available for atrix 2? I like the features of the phone.

Well,I changed the preferences on the phone to MTP mode but the Bridge for Mac software keeps telling me that it cannot connect to the phone.I was wondering whether a soft/factory reset of the phone would solve the problem. What is the default pin on the Xperia phones ?

Re posting my query. Can someone guide me how to re install the phone software on Defy+. Like in Nokia phones, we use the Nokia PC Suite and re install or check for updates. I am unable to find something for Defy+.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Harshal,
Instead of going for a full OS reinstall, first try to clear the factory reset & clear the cache. It should solve the issue. But beware that, like OS reinstall, factory reset will also bring your phone to factory condition. It ill delete all ur installed apps, all settings defaulted, all sms contacts gone.
You can export Contacts to SD cards & reimport it latet.

OS reinstall: for this search on XDA for Defy+ indian Firmware file (.sbf). Once you get this, all you have to install the RSD lite in your PC & connect your phone in bootloader mode. Flash the .sbf file & its done. You will get out of the box phone.

Hi
Can anyone suggest me how to backup all data on my Note? Im thinking of doing a reset but before that i want to backup all my photos and memo files to my memory card. I searched for some option but i cant copy files from the phone memory to sd card. Please help.
And does factory reset do the same job as the root wipe method described above? Im running ICS 4.0.3.

Thanks

Edit. In fact im not even finding the option to backup the contacts to memory card. Also the accesibility option of increased contrast and inverse colors are gone. Now getting kinda pissed with ICS.

Use the following Partha - Download Super back up and back up your call logs, contacts, sms - Download Appsaver and back up your Apps.(you need to reinstall everything) - Copy the DCIM folder to your Computer if needed. - Reset does not wipe data from gallery. - Reset does reset sms, contacts and call logs. I use the above method and keep it simple. All i need is contacts, SMS and Call logs. Rest all can be reinstalled and configured

Thanks. On your idea i started searching play store. Found an even better app. Sandisk memory zone. Its free. Here's screenshot. You can backup everything to the sd card and to the cloud also. And i installed super backup as you suggested for sms and contacts backup. Both are pretty nice.

Recently my Galaxy S i9000 had the misfortune of getting wet , and since then the Home Key doesn't work at all. The phone functions normally , which is indeed a relief.

So i took the phone to the nearest service center , and after diagnosis , the technician finalizes that the display piece has to be changed entirely , as the home key is part of it. That would burn about 6k of my money.

So i have taken back the phone , and i guess i would have to live without my Home Key :Frustrati

Anyone here been through this ordeal, and any other workarounds.

To replace the home key, i've found an app which does the job pretty decent - Button Savior .

Quoted Rs 38.8K for Galaxy S3 with Airtel Set-Top Box, MTS/Tata Photon USB Dongle, Sennheiser Headset, Reebok Watch thrown in as freebies.
I had them asked cut the freebies and reduce the cost by atleast 1.5 K but was refused promptly :)
What say folks - is it a good deal?
This is from Spice Showroom just next to KFC @ Indiranagar 100ft signal.
Other Quotes:
Sangeethas - Rs 39K (1 year warranty + Insurance with BT headset free).
Univercell - Rs 39.2K (1 year warranty + Insurance with BT headset free).

@NFSFREAK 38.8 Looks a great price with those freebies at this stage of the product cycle.. I say go for it

You can take backup of contacts, etc through KIES, but you will loose all the apps. You can take backup of apps if you have rooted the phone and has Titanium Backup. Resetting it to factory settings can be done through the settings options of your phone. (Settings -> Backup and Reset).

If everything else fails, you can think of rooting the phone or giving the phone to service center. Rooting the phone will help you try different ROMs (and you can even flash the official ROM again).
