re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Let me add one more bit. htc are much quicker with updates etc. than Samsung. So if you like to tinker and must have the latest then keep this in mind.

Dropped my Desire!

Last night I dropped my phone from about 3.5-4 feet to the hard floor accidentally. I feared the worst but to my surprise, nothing had happened to the phone. It didn't even restart or reported a SIM issue.

Best thing was, there wasn't even a scratch. Proves that HTC's build quality is outstanding.

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Purchased an LG Optimus One two days ago for 10K including Insurance. Thanks to one of my contacts at LG, I got this at Dealers Price. I saved about Rs. 1600/- due to this. Living the droid dream now. However, had to charge the phone twice yesterday, might be due to experimenting a lot. Loved the NDrive Application

OT: Mary, my navigation assistant in NDrive drove me to work and back home yesterday. Mary was crazy at a couple of instances, when I took my own route rather than her route and she was continously nagging me to take a U Turn and continue on her route. Atlast, she realized that I would not heed to her words and she changed her planned route. I was like LOL

Loving the experience Manish. It's a sure budget phone with great lot of stuff thrown in. Loved the precise GPS locations, which were down to each meter. More to explore and more to do.

I have gradually moved on from Candy Bar phone to Touch Screen to Qwerty to Slide and now back to Touch Screen. This is how my mobile journey looks like, when I look back (Nokia 1100 > Nokia 6600 > Nokia 6681 > HTC Touch > Videocon V1675 > Nokia E65 > BlackBerry Curve 8250 > LG Optimus One). Except for the BlackBerry Curve, I have all others still lying at home, in my museum I don't feel like selling my phones.

Re: Android applications

Thanks for the extensive list of Andriod Applications. Its been less than 48 hours since I purchased it and was confused as to what to install and what not to install. This thread gave me a brief idea about what each application is all about and what's FREE. Loved Talking Tom on iPhone and with Talking Tom on Andriod, it's gonna be fun for sure. Now its time to teach Tom some serious Hindi

Play music wireless from your Android in your Car stereo

Well not really related with Android, but thought of sharing it here

You can make your ICE Bluetooth enabled and play music wireless from Android. Here's how

There is a Bluetooth receiver
Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods-std1_f8z492.jpg

It comes with an AC adapter, and it needs 5V DC. So you should have a cig. lighter USB charger or similar thing (with voltage divider to bring 12V to 5V dc) to power this device.

You can then connect the audio output of this device directly into the Aux. Input of the HU, most of the HUs have this provision.

Pair your phone and play music wireless!

Best thing is, this is available now in Flipkart. I am planning to buy.

Heard that Galaxy II with a slide out QWERTY has been launched. May be it also has the dual core processor.

Can I use SWYPE on LG Optimus One? I tried searching from SWYPE in Market but could not find it. Is SWYPE supported in LG Optimus One?

Swype is not available in the market, you need to get it from its website.
I am sure it'll work on your phone as well.
