This is not what I have been looking for. K, to make it simple what I want is exactly of what this is doing. I want my Mobile Phone to access the Internet Connection of my Laptop. I have a Broadband @work & an unlimited plan on my data card. This is also referred to as Reverse tethering.
I tried to make my Laptop into a hotspot, but besides my Android the damn thing is usable by other computers as well as my colleagues Nokia E72.
Hope my requirement is clear now...

I use Brut Maps and it works better than N Drive. Just type in the name of any place and search - then ask for directions. Nice and simple.

I have boarded the Android Ship, got HTC Incredible S.

Simply to say, coming from Iphone 3gs, Iphone 4, Samsung Galaxy S, Nexus S, Incredible S is pure bliss. Lovely Black finish. And yes, it is not at all "plasticky"

8mp cam is very efficient and cool. Waiting for GB to be released for it.

@NC, I think Brut Maps uses Edge/3G Data Connection to retreive data, where as NDrive has everything in built and uses GPS to pin point the location. No GPRS Package required.

If you have the option of moving your contacts to memory card, move your entire contacts to your memory card and send that file to your android phone. I did the same to transfer contacts from my E63 to the galaxy ace.

Since you have already made the .vcf file, send that file to the Defy.

go to http://www.google.co.in/contacts import your contacts from .csv file.
Sync your phonebook by wifi or gprs.
All the contacts will be copied into your phonebook

To add to what has been said, you can give a label to all those contacts that you import and then sync only the contacts of that label to your phone.

This way you can bring in only your old phone contacts.

Of course you an export to a .csv file, change settings on the phone, and then import from there. However, I will prefer the GMail route any day. A little 'loud computing'!
Could you please post detailed steps?
I am lost in this

I just typed in my office name and voila it automatically calculated the route and guided me.

Has anyone used Sygic on an Android? AFAIK, it works without data (hence better than NDrive) and maps are quite up to date. I like Sygic's routing on Symbian and I'm guessing the interface and usability would be far better on an Android

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc is now available for 28k, is it worth to buy or wait for few more days to buy a better dual core phone?

Any noted missing features in Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc ?

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I have noticed that most mid range Android phones do not have a front facing camera for video calling. I am not able to understand the logic behind this trend.

I feel that with 3G services already launched in India, a front facing video calling camera is a must-have feature in any phone costing 10k upwards.

Affordable 3G enabled mobile handsets (with front facing video camera) are available, but with different OS (Symbian).

Am I missing something here ? Am I the only person who feels that video calling is a nice feature and should be made available in affordable touch screen phones.

Let me put it this way - which is the cheapest Android phone with front facing video camera ?
