Power it on and you will be impressed with the display powered by Bravia Engine.
Once you start tapping, you will be impressed with the GUI response and the processing power.

My 2G GPRS works much faster on this one compared to my old Nokia E71.

Voice quality is excellent with noise reduction in place.

Only drawback I could think of right now is the flimsy feel once you have in in your hand.

Having fun time installing all the Android apps now. Already installed Touchdown, a great piece of software.

Cool. From where did you pick it up? How much is the cost?

I am really interested in this set. Its either this or Samsung Galaxy S2 for me.
The only thing stopping me from going for the Arc is the lack of a front facing camera.

Keep us updated on this new handset!

Re: Android applications

I am having a Galaxy 5, I just love the amount of VFM the model provides.
Unfortunately, I am not able to find a Androip App which would provide the functionality of a GPS equalent.

To allow me to download the map offline and then only tracking info being relayed.
Does anyone have any idea of any such app, which stores the maps in the mobile and then only sends back and forth the tracking info.

This would save lot of time from the maps getting downloaded everytime I am travelling

Re: Android applications

xingamazon, you can try any software such as Oruxmaps, mytracks, androzic....
The list goes on and on.
you basically download maps on your PC and then copy them to your phone SD card.

In oruxmaps or brutmaps, you can simply connect to internet and keep browsing areas, and the software will keep caching maps.

@anmol: Did you consider any other phone while purchasing incredible S?
Also did you try the custom skins?

You are right about the price difference.
But there are some differences in specs: Larger screen (4.2 vs 3.7), More RAM (512 vs 320).
There may be other subtle differences in UI as well.

@xingamazon, i guess you want an app which can track your route, speed, distance, etc. If yes then try "Google My Tracks". It is awesome. I recently tracked my whole Tirupati trip up and down, and it works like a charm.
If you want Navigation ability then as Tanveer said, you can use Brut Maps. I have used it for navigation and it is fairly accurate plus it has voice guidance, which serioulsy helped me. I was going straight on a road when it voice guided me to take a right. I was confused to stopped and confirmed with the locals there and indeed I had to take a right. The only issue with it is it needs a continuous data connection for realtime update and routing which sometimes can be a problem as I faced a lot of "data connection lost" issues, but GPS tracked the whole thing.

EDIT: I have uploaded the "google my Tracks" info on "Hyderabad-Tirupati:route info" thread, you can check, if that is the app you want.

No they are quite different. Arc is very thin but Neo is comparatively thicker. Also Arc has a bigger display and RAM.

Edit: LG 2X and LG Optimus Black launched. Has anybody got your hands on one?

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Guys the Galaxy SE is fantastic in a lot of aspects. However the voice quality is pathetic on the headphones also even after doing all the possible combinations in the players, the default as well as Rock Player (full version). The sound quality is not even as good as it was on my Nokia. Guys, especially with Galaxy SE, please let me know if you all are also facing the same problem... Need to address this ASAP.
P.S. My factory fitted system in my Vista sounds way better than it sounds on the Galaxy SE. I just cant believe that!!!

Rs.28,500 from Mobile Store, Bangalore.

Front facing camera is really a set back.

I guess Neo has front facing camera. But this one is not in shops yet!

Galaxy S2 may be above 35k.

Another update about the battery. I have to charge every day for my kind of use. Usage trend shows me that more than 50% is used by display.

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I am in the market for a android based phone - price range 10-12k. There are not too many options at this price bracket and I have narrowed down the list to LG Optimus One, Samsung Galaxy Fit and HTC wildfire. Of these the LG seems to be the best, but am confused. Can gurus please point to which one is the best?

My requirements are fairly simple - good voice quality, decent battery life and should be able to sync with microsoft exchange (corporate mail). I hardly use the camera or music features, so they dont really matter
