I have enabled auto-kill in the Advanced Task Killer and it kills bg apps every 15 mins. Additionally, I keep clearing the RAM every now and then. To be honest haven't really had any major 'lag' issues coz of the low RAM except the 2 mentioned below.

- Lock screen to Home screen after unlocking takes a wee bit longer if a heavy app(G-Maps, Angry Birds, Market etc) is running in bg.
- Lag in games that display online ads(Not related to RAM, I guess). I switch off my data connection and play

Thanks
I am loving it so far. Still to test multimedia, but the entire experience is great. I did a lot of hunting over the last few months before I zeroed in on this. Just suits all my needs.

The auto-kill hampers my ability to work on current application in my case. It causes force close for app that running. It irritates me a lot. So i don't use auto-kill. But its a neat app.

For game lag due to ads, get ad-free android app, it will make your phone ad-free

WIth juice defender installed, the battery hardly lasted for 2 days or more.
I uninstalled.
All such battery saver apps especially when they have to run in the background as a service typically results in saving nothing. I tried a couple of them, got fed up with the results and uninstalled. Right now I use advanced task killer which kills jobs every 30 mins. I don't see it using a lot of resources. I am still amazed by 3 days without recharge. The max I could take my lg optimus one is 1.5 days and that too with gprs off when I am not using it and not using GPS at all. Any specific settings that you have done?

No specific settings, but here are somethings that I do regularly to save the battery.
1. My phone's screen brightness is set at minimum
2. Screen timeout is set at 30seconds
3. Wifi, GPS, GPRS are generally off and i switch it on only when required.
4. If I use GPS, the battery last for around 2.5 days
5. Daily wifi usage is around 1 hr minimum. I use it to surf FB and read TOI.
6. I rarely listen to music on the phone.
7. SMS, may be 4-5 max in a day
8. Voice calls vary from 10 minutes to 1 hr in a day
9. I regularly goto running services and stop any app which is running and not required.
10. Camera usage is also minimum.
11. No additional games installed on the phone.
12. The battery charge goes down to 10% by the night of 2nd day, but I leave it like that and it last through the night while I sleep. I charge it every third day from 7:30a.m till 9 a.m and it gets fully charged.

UPDATE:
I installed "my phone explorer" app as advised here my clevermax, also read about it on Technoholik.com. The best thing i liked about it was the phone screenshot, amazing!! Other features are equally good.
The car apps on android soul is good. will try those soon..

Fordmanchau, Thanks for the list. Quite a comprehensive one.
My usage is a little bit higher, but settings are pretty much the same except the gprs off part. I do have a lot of social apps installed, will have to check with a leaner system I guess.

congrats! its a beautiful phone isintit!

I had almost made up my mind on it and just then HT have announced the Sensation! Now am again in wait mode for that one to come! This is my story since last nov when I started dreaming of the Nexus S! Since then have deliberated between Nexus S, Galaxy S, S2, Incredible S (what an incredulous name!), Desire S, Xperia Arc (almost settled on it) and now Sensation!

Guys - I'm looking for a good case / holster for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. Please suggest.

The one that came in the box is crappy.

Galaxy S II is anounced for India launch. You may consider it. It too has a dual core 1.2GHz processor plus all the latest bells and whistles.
