She might have un installed the applock application itself.

Now, the question is how did she uninstall the applock application itself when I restricted the same in the installation/uninstallation settings of applock ? Thanks.
Any inputs with regards to the above request. Thanks

You don't need anything from HTC. Try this - http://airdroid.com/

Trial and error with entering the codes? Got lucky maybe? Can't you talk to your daughter about this instead of locking it up?

I downloaded the maps for Karnataka (along with the application & the necessary resources) today which was for free. I did not try the application extensively, but was able to navigate to my location and check the map & it was accurate.

Thanks for the info. I promptly downloaded it. However, the 'additional info' and offline maps just refuse to get downloaded! Dunno what's the problem?

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

How good is the quality and customer service of Indian brands like Micromax, Karbonn, Lava, HCL etc. I am looking for a 10+ inch Android tablet and wondering whether it's worthwhile looking into these brands.

HCL is an age old Indian hardware company - at they should probably be having a good service network etc, right?

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

An HCL tablet, a gift, spent some time working here, but only a short time. HCL service sat on it for weeks, and gave it back supposedly working, but it was only days before it would not even boot. A local repair shop looked at it, shook their heads, and said, "Oh no, not another of those."

Tablet not good. Service not good.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

HTC has very unwittingly decided to take off its flagship model from the market all of a sudden. Yes I am talking about the HTC ONE. Now the reasons behind this move leaves me really baffled. I had been trying to convince my father to look beyond the world of samsung and get the HTC this time. After pitching the HTC for over a week, it was humiliating in front of him to discover that the phone has been discontinued and a newer dual sim variant is launched now, priced at an unbelievable 48-49k. Why on earth did HTC decide to do this? And what kind of confidence does it inspire when the company ditches its flagship model so soon?

Finally decided to get the Samsung galaxy S4.

Hi,

Thanks for confirming this! I recently visited a couple of mobile shops for buying a phone for my mother. I was surprised not to see HTC One on display given that this was supposed to be their flagship. HTC phones are virtually non-existent. Samsung/Nokia/Sony are selling well along with the indian brands. I wonder what HTC is up to - it seems that company is going down really fast.

HTC had hit operating losses for the first time in the last quarter - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23512965
Their shares are trading at lowest ever rates since 2005.

Moreover, whoever owned HTC in our office had bad experiences ( either with the reliability or with the service center guys ). Most of them will never buy an HTC again. Nokia, Samsung and Sony excels in this area.
