Over priced and poor after sales and service.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Lot of prejudice exists against HTC in India. Overpriced may be, but it is one of the most reliable mobile brand out there. I have been using HTC phones over last 5 years. Not faced a single complaint in as many years. People simply go by hearsay.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Most android phones are reliable. I had a pretty poor experience with HTC after sales and service, I would like to give it a try but unreasonable pricing isn't helping the case.

In that case, Google has been a life saver. Its range of Nexus phones are brilliant and now the Motorola supports it well.

@F150; htc after sales service is a joke. I do hear things have improved a lot. However, many independents do a superb job.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

My cousin's HTC Desire U (or X maybe) fell in a bucket of water. Screen went bad.

HTC charged 5000 bucks for the screen and they couldn't repair the vibrator.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

In my past 5 years experience with HTC phones, never faced any issues with the phone, all worked fine & flawless!
Contacted their Service just once to replace Battery for one of the phones.

So thought of asking here before going to buy another one.

Which of the following is Genuine Battery to go for--
1) Ebay.in Sony Ericsson BST- 41 Battery for Xperia X10 (reliableenterprise, Mumbai) Rs. 1380/- + Rs. 40/- Shipping = Rs. 1420/-

2) Ebay.in Sony Ericsson BST- 41 Battery for Xperia X10 (krish2_infotech, Ahmedabad) Rs. 999/- + Free Shipping = Rs. 999/-

3) Ebay.in Sony Ericsson BST- 41 Battery for Xperia X10 (bestgadget, Mumbai) Rs. 990/- + Rs. 45/- Shipping = Rs. 1035/-

Please help in deciding the correct one.
Thanks.
None of them seem to have warranty. Possibly all are counterfeit. If price is close to same better buy from ASC!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Guys, I am looking at the following phones to replace my Nexus 4. The battery life is just killing me.

My basic needs:
Very good battery life
5 inch screen
2 GB RAM
Dual SIM

I am looking at the Huawei Honor 3C - http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_honor_3c-5903.php or I can wait a bit for the Alcatel Idol X+ - http://www.gsmarena.com/alcatel_idol_x+-5937.php

The specs are amazing on the Alcatel - True Octa Core Processor and 5-inch Full HD 1080P 441 PPI IPS Screen. Any idea when it will be launched.

And please don't suggest phones in Samsung - all overpriced.

Dont waste money. Go to advanced settings in Wifi and turn off the option - allow google to scan for wifi networks even when wifi is off. See your battery life get better

What is your budget? You can have a look at HTC One Dual.

think I haven't done all that? Even went to extent of rooting, custom ROM - kernel change etc. Pathetic battery life. It's just killing!

The build quality and UI are the deal breakers in favour of HTC. The camera may not be the best of all, but then we don't buy a phone primarily for its camera.
But yes, if camera is the utmost priority, then HTC is out of the game.

Install Snapdragon Battery guru from Appstore. Check if you are happy after it. I have been happy with it. I was also not happy with my Nexus 4 battery life .

PS: It takes 3 days for it to learn your usage pattern. So wait for 3 days before testing battery life. Also tweak the application settings
