Have done 2 reboots. No luck yet. Any pointers from fellow BHPians?
Even i encounter same problem in My Grand quattro android system uses 60% - 70% battery. But my battery drainage is not huge it drains by 25% - 30% overnight

I am using Battery doctor app, not sure if this is helping in reducing drainage.

Thank you Speed demo - it came at the right time. I was on the one month trial of swift key and was evaluating other (free) options. Installed it yesterday itself.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

My Samsung Galaxy Grand duos started acting up after update to 4.2.2 . Tried all sorts of things , without any respite. Finally did the following:

1. Rooted my Phone
2. Installed Titanium Backup and took a backup of apps
3. Installed GENNXT Sony Xperia ROM for Galaxy grand (based on 4.2.2)
4. Restored the apps via Titanium Backup.

Phone is pretty fast now without samsung bloatware and to top it all, I am able to use "Walkman" music player and can even mute the sound on camera

Anyone facing the same and any fix?
No. I don't think I face any or this issue in Nexus 5. I didn't face any issue earlier as well (prior to upgrade to 4.4.3)

Why not restore the phone once?

Thanks for that. Any idea what the difference is between Art and Dalvik runtime which can be changed on the phone?

And how long does your phone take charge fully from say around 20%? Mine I feel takes quite a bit, more than 2 hours , but the charge stays long enough.

ART and Dalvik are two different ways how apps run on the phone.

ART stands for Android Runtime, which is faster and consumes much lesser RAM than Dalvik, but at the cost of increased use of your phone's storage.

I would recommend that you leave it in Dalvik, because the vast majority of apps out there are not optimized to run on ART, and will end up crashing.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Got android 4.4.2 kitkat update on my Note 10.1 N8000 yesterday night. The size of the file is around 800MB. It took around 2 hrs 15 min to complete the update.

Major change is the moving of the home, back and the task manager icons to the bottom center. Also, the notifications have moved to the top right of the screen. There is no screen shot icon now. How to take screen shots with the current UI?

Thanks.

The hardware buttons combination should work.
Press Power+ Voume key together for few seconds.

Yes. The hardware button combo works.

Please share your review. I upgraded my wife's Note 10.1 N8000 as well, over the weekend. Her basic complain was the back button is now in the middle instead of the left corner. So, this is very inconvenient.
I have not seen any new features as such (perhaps the voice based commands are new?)

I find my htc One after the latest firmware update (almost 1GB) incl Sense 6 is much more economical on power.

Easy root method for Galaxy S5 (defeats Knox)

Quote:
Towelroot is the first Galaxy S5 root method, and it can even bypass Samsung’s touted enterprise-grade security suite, Knox, although Knox does show an error message during the process.

Are you rooted?
If so, then there're multiple apps to do that.
Try Fontoosh.
