Recently, I have heard about the Waze.It provides complete free GPS navigation solution for the mobile users. Download waze from your smartphone
I have not tried yet. The working of the software sounds adventurous. I think, it will be of Great fun.

Have downloaded it today, will try it out. Primarily just for fun, as I anyways have a top spec VX140 GPS in my car ;-)

I had one question. How is Waze different or more useful than something else similar like, say Google Latitude, or Loopt, or Foursquare?

1. I don't see that any of those offer driving directions. Waze does.
2. Waze 'learns' from its members' driving. Thus new or changed roads, mean driving speed for a section of road etc are constantly being updated.

YES it does work on both download respective software from m.waze.com

Just read a mail form alpha[at]waze.com approving me as area manager for a part of south Goa. And immediately proceeded to delete 50 m of road that doesn't exist, and has never existed.

Now when I drive with Waze, I won't have to hear "keep left' where there's no road on the right

I am currently using google maps in the US on my anroid phone (X10) and it works pretty well. I have not tried it in India yet as I never had a GPRS / 3G connection. Google Maps Voice Navigation is still not supported in India, you can get aroung this through Installing Brut Navigation (there is another thread running on it).

Started using waze today, joined Team-BHP group too. One weird thing I notice sometimes it tells me to take the *other* side of the divided road (near a divider cut it'll ask you to take right and immediately left, and from the picture it looks like it really wants me to drive on the opposite lane) ... anyone else noticed this?
