was looking on ipad and clones and found one hot selling item on ebay.
saw many videos on youtube for these small tablets and they do look very tempting with 25% cost of an iPad.

the seller also offers warranty, the product page shows 43 SOLD, I am not that inclined towards it but thats a interesting sales figure and price for sure.
Has anyone tried these iPad alternatives ? does it really work,
10K tablet cannot do wonders but if it can do basic computing jobs and browsing i think that a decent price.
^^ After reading it came to understand that the processor is
and not 1GHz as advertised.
That means NO FLASH capable and cannot upgrade to Android 2.2 ?! Also no access to Android Market Place.
Lots of big brands are due to release pads soon (some at decent prices) so hold on and wait for better products.
I have one of these Chinese android devices. It takes 5 minutes to boot. That should give you some idea.

will wait for more players to kick in and would like to go for a brand which can have real support service.

I don't really accept most of the comments here. We can't say these for all chinese based products. I have bought Gpad G10 from Pandawill.com, which comes with android 2.1, 4GB internal memory and 256 MB RAM. The booting hardly takes 30-40seconds and the RAM after running basic applications in my car, it still shows around 140MB.
I am pretty much using it in my car for everything like playing music, GPS, browsing, etc.
The manufacturer is already working for android 2.3 on this. It supports external GPS, 3G (I had bought gps dongle from pandawill itself) and using my existing 3G dongle.
It plays the HD video smoothly, I can play youtube videos, pretty do everything that we expect to do on these.

But if anybody wants a cheaper but rugged and reliable Android tablet he should go for the Nook Color.
Yes it is a full fledged tablet with 1GHz processor and capacitive screen disguised under the hood of an ebook reader. You just need to install a custom ROM from XDA-developers and see the change. I presently own one and is more than satisfied. Costs ~ 14.5-15K if imported from USA.
Read an excellent review here and realize it's full capabilities:

Was not aware of NC's existence. Looks pretty good for around 15K, but USD199 special offer would have been awesome.

^^ You can buy them through ebay.
However, the Chinese clones are complete waste of money. They are slow, got poor battery life, unreliable hardware and not very good community support (which is very important for any android device).
If you have ~ 15K to spend buy a Nook Color and install a custom ROM to convert it to a full fledged tablet. It's got great build quality, good community support and good hardware.
If you have 22K - buy a galaxy tab.
If you can import from USA and want a 10" tablet - get Viewsonic G Tab for around 300$
else get a first gen iPad for 350$ or 32K (in india)
