If you saved your hotmail login info at your handset/operator interface you need to use the option "download new mails only" or similar option.

Secondly mynumber will only work if you have a number registered on your sim else it doesn't. And in the 8900 you have two browsers if you have the unlimited data plan. (Please do NOT use the live browsers. I.e. Airtel live or vodafone live. They attract browsing charges.) The internet browser is your default edge browser and the hotspot one is your default wifi browser.
So going into main screen>browser(any)>general properties>default browser and swapping it makes it change the default use mode. But not if you are already browsing. Things like facebook are still under development so there is no deployment of that in wifi.
@techno: from home screen press call key once it will show you call log. Press blackberry key go to options>call logging>select none.
Well for media I have an iPod, also my phone doesnt have sim :P

Thanks for the logging tip, but that would disable logging completely right? I want the logs but find it weird that its in messages thats all.

Thanks a lot for all your help man

Oh you don't need a sim for that media :P you just need a comp for downloads/conversions and the BB cable for transfer. Phone supports a lot of media formats. Ahhh yes the formidable ipod. I left it behind I love the wolfson dacs on this :P

Oh no your call logs will still appear when you hit the call button! And you can scroll over a contact hit BBkey>view history and the ENTIRE call history will show up for that contact. Believe me you get a massive call log from the BB!

What use is knowledge in its simplest form if not shared. Right?

Lovely, Just disabled it

And in Contacts I selected 'Activity Log' for a contact as I didnt see any 'History' option & yes it was indeed long.

Thanks a ton & yes thats the beauty of a forum i.e.sharing of knowledge

Btw by no sim I meant that mine is a cdma handset (probably the only cdma BB?)

your speed may be many times than the speed on Indian blackberry.
I am on CDMA from reliance in India, and speed is bad as it could be on a non 3G network.

Just to add, PIN to PIN msgs are free within country here, no matter if your friend is on a CDMA or a GSM Device.

I don't pass my PIN to lots of friends, I'll hate getting pins for each stupid question which doesn't needs much attention.

PIN in corporates and business houses where you have enterprise server is used specifically for important and classified information sharing only.

I think as long as you have BB package its free irrespective of the country of subscription. I have BBming with my friend in India without any issue or extra cost.

And yes I am not too fond of chatting via BBM either.
