The new screen grows on you and you wont miss it when you start using the device.

Attached pictures of the q5.

I was not a big fan of touch and was waiting for a reasonably priced BB with a qwerty and choose this over the q10.

I have being using the Bold 9780 and previously the Curve and this is my first from the BB10.

The q5 is a touch and type device and the touch is not bad. I am getting used to it. Its a major change for me using a touch, however I am glad I am able to type my emails with a physical keyboard.

The battery on the q5 cannot be removed, however I am hoping for best as the device comes with a large battery.

I am really glad with the keyboard.

Been a BB fan and user from many years with experience on atleast 6 premium models and an ardent hater of touch phones

Ever since moving to Z10 which doesnt even have even a single button on the phone, the experience has been simply phenomenal

It just took me 2-3 days to acclimatize and i can type same speed or faster than a physical keyboard. Without doubt Z10 has the best virtual keyboard currently in the market

Totally love the Z10

Congrats. What was the price of this phone? Looks little small, similar to their 8520 series but, from the look of the keypad it seems an improvement.

I liked the Q10 too, could be my next phone after a year

Congrats on your buy. I am sure you are going to enjoy the phone. Its a great looking phone.

Coming to the battery, I think the battery on the Q5 is bigger than the battery on the Q10.

Even the soon to be released all touch Blackberry A10 will also have a non removable battery.

I don't understand why Blackberry is opting out of removable battery. I think its a big disadvantage, especially for people on the go who don't have access to charging points.

I have a Charging bundle for my Q10, and I always have a fully charged battery available to swap at the end of the day to continue max phone usage into the night without having to compromise on changing over to 2G, or switching off wifi, or reduce screen brightness, or any other power saving tactics - OR- having to sit by your phone plugged into the wall.

Sadly this is only available for the Z10 and Q10.

How much did you buy the bundle for and from where?

http://www.amazon.com/Blackberry-Bat...charger+bundle

My mom is coming back from US next month and I see this charger bundle for $36 which works out to roughly INR 2200 whereas I see it being sold for around 4K in India

My question do the batteries differ for different Z10 models like STL-1, 2 or 3?

Got mine from Amazon.fr - had a friend bring it down to India for me. I paid 27Euro, which is roughly $36.

Firstly, I suggest you to ask your mother to bring it with her. I have searched extensively for these in India, and whatever I found was expensive an not in a very good condition, and I did not want to take chances as this is not just a charger but also an extra battery.

Secondly, there is no difference in the batteries.

True, I am going to have this for a year and hopefully it should see me through.

Its not working on your Q5? Its working fine on my phone

Having said that, i didnt find it too useful as it sucks in resources like anything and kills the battery too fast.

Has a nice UI and features though.

If you BB PIN is not from a phone made to be sold in India, then you will not able to get MMI in the BB App World for free. Instead, there is a software called Mireo DONT PANIC - which will do the same, i.e. download and use maps from MMI. However it is not free.

I do agree fully by what you said. It (a) sucks your battery like there is no tomorrow, (b) not much info on locations (such as businesses and establishments)

However it is very accurate. Works without cellphone reception.

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Iam having a weird problem with my Z10. This happened only twice in my 2.5 months of ownership

When I have the call app open, it starts calling the last dialed no ( and maybe another number too, not sure) on its own. I end the call, it dials again and in panic, I switch off the phone and restart and this issue disappears

What could be wrong?

OS 10.2 leaked version is released and there are plenty of new features and I will most probably download this over the weekend

Iam totally enjoying the Z10 experience and feel its in a class of its own. Only issue is its battery life which is really dismal and hope 10.2 improves it to some extent.

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

OK, I've seemingly crawled the entire possible web searching for a solution to my problem. Hopefully one of you can help.

My BB Torch 9860 was working perfect since purchase in mid-2012. Suddenly, over the last month, it has been switching off arbitrarily and sometimes even when I select a random feature like email or text messaging, middle of calls, etc, it just dies.

It does not switch back on until I connect it to a power source and do a battery pull.

I've tried everything from live battery pull, data wipe, software update, BBSAK, BB Desktop Repair, removing apps, disabling 3G and even disabling data services. But the problem is as strong as ever. You can name any solution on the Crackberry or Blackberry Forums and I've tried it. This seems like a very common issue with many BB users and is certainly not a battery problem.

There are horror stories about the BB Service Center in Bangalore, so I chose to not go that route.
