Sahil,

You can ON/OFF data service manually.
You can Auto ON/OFF cell for Weekday and Weekend.

guys anyone using BBM 5.0?? i've loaded it up on my bold running .247 !

The msger 5.0 has an awesome interface but i think the messages take a lil bit more time to deliver to the older BBM.

Great upgrade i feel.

Ok so I managed to transfer the data from the Nokia to the Javelin. But here are the hicups:

I used ZYB to transfer the contacts, the Nokia allows you to have two or more mobile numbers for each name. This data transfered perfectly from Nokia to zyb. But when I transfered from zyb to bb the 2nd mobile numbers do not come. I think this is due to bb have just one entry for mobile under each name.

For the calender I used outlook. Each entry per day has reminder set at a certain time. But when I transfer the calender from the Nokia to outlook all those reminders get converted into "all day events". Hence I'm not reminded at the designated task time.

How can I resolve these issues??

Read my post above, I did use outlook sync for the calender.
When i try and sync the contacts via outlook, it only takes 2 numbers per name

Sahil trust me time and again I have noticed that we will never be able to fully properly sync two devices that run on different platforms. Stick to BB's from now on and I dont think you'll face too many issues. A little trick though, try exporting the backup file and during import in outlook assign the fields (mobile, mobile 2 etc)

Are you able to see the other numbers in the outlook once you sync with the nokia phone? If yes, then i think this method will not help.

If its not shown in Outlook, then check for drop downs in the fields of the address book, sometimes while syncing its stored under different field (mismatched mapping). Once you allocate the appropriate fields, then the numbers will show up.

IIRC Rehaan faced this issue for his dad's BB, check with him if he can help ie if he found an answer.

This cross platform PIM syncing has always been a toughie. I wish there was a universal PIM format it would make switching so much easier.

If 8310 has the same mini-USB socket for charging like other BB models, and you are not able to source a BB charger, look for the iPod AC charger. These China-made units have a USB socket (instead of a wire leading out of the unit with a plug at the other end) into which the BB USB cable goes in (ditto for iPod), and it supplies 5V for charging. This is available at most electronic retail shops, usually in a blister-pack kept along with miscellaneous cables and headphones.

You can use any normal mini-usb Motorola or Chinese types mp3 player chargers they will work on the 8310, dont spend money on the original one its too expensive.

Thanks DerAlte & quickdraw.
I tried a Motorola charger, but that didnt work for me. Will try iPod AC charger or some mp3 players charger and see how it works out!

It should definately work, I used my old MOTOROKR charger with my Curve sometime back, why dont you carry the curve to some local mobile shop and check which of the chargers work with your phone there.

When i select a number from my call list and press CALL button, phone exits to the same screen and does not go the calling screen. I have to do this 2-3 time before the actual call goes through.

It just happened 2-3 times till now. It's not a problem but a very minor irritant. What could be the problem? Time for a battery pull?
