How I wish we could post or interact with the team-bhp site through BB Services, without enabling wifi, it would be a lot more fun to have 'Team' on the go.

Well lets hope for the best.

Thanks for the information, i'll check it out soon.
Does the BB antivirus software need to be re-subscribed every year or is it forever? What about the antivirus updates?

The manual provided with the kit is as good as useless.

Accessing T-BHP via push technology? You mean via emails? You can subscribe to threads and the notifications come up on email, you will have to go to the website to post though.

Just found out from Airtel customer care in BLR that the Rs.99 unlimited GPRS is no longer available. What's the cheapest unlimited GPRS service available in Karnataka? I don't want to invest in an email-only service on my BB. So I am on this lookout

Was there ever a 'Rs. 99 unlimited GPRS' package available on Airtel?

Yes there was. Apparantly it has been cancelled a couple of months ago, but the website still shows it with an addendum.

It seems Aircel offers it still.

Bought unlocked BB 8520 for 13.5k. Browsing via edge/gprs is working absolutely fine. But, Gtalk & mails are not working.
Tried setting up vodafone's APN as 'www'. Didn't worked. Will have to take vodafone 299 plan I guess.
Is there any other way out?

On my airtel prepaid, with GPRS/edge, GMAPS, gtalk and Gmail works fine. But only push email with dedicated inbox does not work and needs the blackberry plan.

Offlate i am quite unhappy with my BOLD. I seem to have a serious and recurring issue with its track ball. I am not able to scroll down ( Read : Only scrolling down gets affected) and this issue lasts from 24 hours-48 hours and gets resolved on its own.

This issue is cropping up often these days, say once in 7-10 days. During this period, i am unable to make phone calls and access many other applications.

I also note some faulty design features of BOLD, not sure if this applies to all BB's

1. When you scroll up when you reach the top item and continue scrolling up will bring the cursor to bottom most item ( as seen in most Nokia phones) and is very useful if your scrolling ball gets stuck as in my case.

2. From home screen, if i type a name it does not go to the phone address book completely. For example : If i have to access Jairaj Singh. I type J, then A, then I. The cursor goes to J items but does not go to Jairaj which is some 7-8 items below

3. If your scroll ball gets stuck, there should be an option to scroll items/applications via. your keypad. I cannot do that due to unavailability on the keypad. Or is it and i am unaware of it?

If this continues for long, i will have no option but chuck it and buy a 8520 ( since it has a touchpad) as i am now averse with track ball scrolling.

Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.

13.5k is a very good price.

I also bought mine on 15th for 14,990/-.

Now official price is 14,990/- for Network independent phone. It was there in 14th newspapers.

It was available in Croma for 14.5k (14,990/- less 500 cash discount).

I bought it from Reliance Digital for Rs.14,990/- and got one car charger (being sold at 0.5k), one jabra bt325s bluetooth (being sold at 2.5k), one pouch and one 10% discount voucher on my next purchase of mobile from Reliance Digital (Max discount 1499).

If any of fellow member needs Reliance Digital 10% voucher (valid till 8th Nov), please PM me.

Today my friend bought it for 14.5 from Croma (Rohini) with Philips 2GB MP3 Player free.

13.5 is a fab price for the 8520. 14,490 seems to be the reasonable market price

and storm 9530 is out as well in the network independent market with an MRP of 20490 only!

anyone know how much vodafone were selling the storm for?
