Guys, Does anyone have the URL for downloading the application loader for Facebook 1.6 using Desktop Manager?

Also, has anyone upgraded to OS 5.0 on 8900? If yes, how's the experience? Are there any issues? Would the data in the BB get wiped during the upgrade? In other words, would I need to take a back up of the contacts etc before the upgrade?

Cheers.

Avi, Dileep recently bought a Curve 8520 @ 14,450/- alongwith which he got a scratch card which entitled him to a 5% further discount which brings his total cost to around 13,725/-.

He picked it up from the local Airtel franchise itself.

@Ardy,

Os 5.0 is not released for 8900. You can get hybrid / leaked OS 5.0 (beta stages) and install on 8900. I personally installed it and found many shortcomings. Firstly international calls were displayed incorrectly, bluetooth menu was not functional complately.

so I removed it and installed the one thats officially released from Blackberry i.e. version 4.6.1.250

BlackBerry OS Super Page - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com
OS Beta/Hybrid Discussion! - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

Read up on the discussions centered around the version you want and then decide if you want to install it. Its easy to roll back so might as well take a chance. I am currently running 5.0.0.314 on my Bold. It has some UI tweaks and general performance enhancements. Check its performance on 8900 and that same thread should have a download link too.

Mohit, thanks for responding. I was a bit surprised no responses for my query was coming through.

I checked the super page of OS and it has a link for 5.0.0.190

But, i searched some threads and got a linky for 5.0.0.314 for BOLD. Here it is :-

Have not been visiting the thread
Make sure you do a full backup as some people are facing issues with this build. For me it runs OK but then I wiped the device, messed up on some restores and lost some info.
