I need to get into a few conf calls using my BB. Dialing those long numbers and passcodes & leader codes is painful.
I know there is a simpler way to key in all the numbers with # & * and the breaks.

Can any of the experts highlight me on what to do to reduce my pain...

Set those frequent no. into your speed dial, while you are on a call press desired speed dial, Ongoing call will go on-hold and the desired no. will be dialed.

By just pressing the # and * keys, it adds.

We have a dedicated BB thread and no discussion on the raging topic?
RIM Says BlackBerry Should Be Treated Equally as India Threatens Shutdown - Bloomberg

I, for one, support RIM's stand.

I use BB to access office email, using BES. I think that will also go out the window. You should be able to access internet email though.

Although, i read somewhere that the Indian Govt is going to go after Google and Skype next

Help - RIM Data Plans

I need some help in selecting a RIM data plan. I got my BB8330 (cracked) and downloaded and installed some software - GMaps, GMail, Opera, Forward Reply and Edit, etc. and got a data bill for just under 4k. Also, inadvertently left the data connection ON.

I realised that I am on a 'pay as you go data plan' and the 5p per 10k Netwrok Usage Charges just rip you off. Now I am thinking of subscribing to a proper data plan, and the Pay as you go plan (Rs.174 + Re.0.60/0.30 per minute) or the Swift 30 (15 hrs day /30hrs night + 0.50 per min) look attractive. Can anyone advise on these and other options. I do not do heavy downloads since I have access to a 1Gbps link at work!

I am sure that GoI and RIM will come to an understanding fast. I am sure that the US has access to the RIM messages/BES stuff.

Sir the Basic Plans would have "MAIL, CHAT N BBM" But no browser :-( and would cost abt 299 a month. the other plans would be 899 or the annual 7K. unlimited one...

if you have wifi on your device then you could go for the basic plan and use wifi if you need browser (this worked fine for me )

Which Handset - Bold 9700 or Torch?

Hi all,

I am using the 8900 since over a year now and on the look out for a new handset. Was all out for the Bold 9700 until I heard about the new Torch. I am a little apprehensive about its touch screen though as if typing on the touchscreen is going to be like that on the Storm2 then it's definitely a big NO for me. Anyone have any idea about the typing on the touchscreen of the Torch or else I will have to go for the 9700.

@johnda: Mine is a 'cracked' BB. So no BB services or MMS. So I have to get a data plan.

I have a storm 2 (touchscreen) - not convenient for fast typing.
Better stick to any model other than one with touchscreen.l

Even I run on strom , typing is a hectic job in BB touch screen models , The display will start bugging you after 6 months use.
