Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

I installed the BB protect and it sure seems like a handy thing to have. I tried n tested its various features like sound and text alarm over the web log in.

Other features like data wipe out are also good. I had a similar sofware in my Nokia E71 which would also send an sms to my 2 registered numbers in case a new SIM has been inserted. So getting hold of the number of the person who is using your cell in case of theft or lost.

you are correct. I realised this mistake but could not edit as there was a problem in the net connection.
In Croma this fone (9300 3G) is retailing at approx Rs. 14500 .[

Pardon my ignorance, but have BB 3G services been started? Are they available att the same tariffs as Enterpris BB services?

+1 to BB Protect. However i would have liked the feature of sending the sms to 2 registered number as well as i have used it in my N95 and its very handy protective feature!

Hey,

I came across this software. Similar to Blackberry Protect. Seems through this you can know the SIM number which is currently active in your phone.

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Can anyone recommend a good BB expert in Delhi/Noida, it seems either the phone optical trackpad or mother board has gone for a toss. Need to get it checked.

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

In the past few months, I moved from my Blackberry Bold to Blackberry 8520 primarily due to trackball problem with the Bold.

I am so happy now with the trackpad

It has a 2 GB card so data storage is not a problem. But, after downloading quite a few apps from the BB store, my app storage space has reduced to 50MB or so.

1. Can someone outline how to increase app storage space ( i mean, apart from deleting exiting/unused app storage from phone)

2. Inputs on good '"FREE" apps that can be downloaded from the BB app store. I am looking at business apps, games etc.

The 2gb card is not used for apps. The phones internal memory is, which isn't expandable.

Quickpull was better in it's earlier days in simpler form. I usually scheduled a restart at 4am so by the time I woke up in the morning the phone was restarted. But with the new Quickpull upgrades they've added a lot of crap to it. So when I wake up I am not greeted by my homescreen, instead there is a notification, then some stats then I have to exit quickpull and then I get the homescreen ! Quite a pain for a non-morning person.

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Guys I'm having some problem with my Curve 8520.
I have set my screen brightness to 100 but still its not bright enough.
I went to a mobile store to compare with other 8520s and indeed my screen felt too dark in comparison to the other phone.
In both the phones the screen brightness was same i.e. 100 and the "automatically dim backlight" option was also disabled in both the phones.

Has anyone else faced the same problem?
Any idea what should I do?
The phone is not in warranty BTW.
Please reply
Thanks

I too am in need of a BB repair centre in Delhi NCR
(not company but a good service outlet)

The camera on my BB 8520 earlier (when it was new) used to take quite decent pictures but over the past year the pictures have become really hazy. Samples attached

This picture was taken when the phone was just a couple of days old

Please advise
Other than this I am really happy with the phone and do not wish to change it. However on the otherhand by brothers phone (also bought at the same time) takes very clear pictures

Hey buddy I have the same problem on my phone. I had posted the query above your post.
But in my case the entire display has become a bit dark even though the brightness is set at 100.
If you come across any solution then do post here.
EDIT: If your phone is still in warranty then give it to the authorized service center. They will repair it for free.
