Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Hi Vdi,
Before you change the battery (ofcourse 9360 is known for its batt issues), try reloading the device with an updated version of the OS.
Take a backup of the phone data and perform the upgrade using Desktop manager or BBSAK (third party tool).
Once the upgrade is done, restore your data, apps (FB/Gtalk etc) and then check how the batt performs.
If the issue persists, then i guess, get the device to an authorised service center and probably have it checked/batt replaced.

What could be the problem and solution? Do I have to change the battery now?

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Is anyone using the newly introduced Viber free call in Blackberry Torch 9810? For me it works great in wi-fi but the quality is not too good in 3G. Using it as Skype is still not available for 9810.

I plan to sell my 9780 and grab the Q10 primarily because its not touch screen. Where is the best place to get a fair price for the 9780, the dealers quote ridiculously low.
Try online than dealers, you might get a good price online. Right now Q10 is on pre order status in India, Launch date yet to be confirmed.

Thanks for the PM. I am eagerly awaiting for the launch.

Snap deal has a pre order, however I think I will buy from my town. Thanks for the heads up. Now to find someone to buy my 9780

I think you will be disappointed with the Q10. I too have been waiting for this model since Iam very reluctant to give up the famed BB querty keyboard. But, intial reviews that I have been reading about Q10 is that it seems like any other BB phone which cannot showcase the full potential of OS-10 due to it being a keyboard + touch phone

Though iam petrified to move to an all touch phone, i think will take the plunge with Z10 soon.

In Hyderabad, I can lay my hands on a Z10 for 28K (Grey Market) and 22K (Used for 1-2 months)

Hopefully, June 2013 will see me with a Z10

Z10 is an amazing phone as I played with a friend's phone the other day. Pricing is been terribly a put off coupled with the popularity of android platform. I really doubt if BB can pull off the slow down or vanishing of the brand value in the global market.

Presently I am with a Samsung Grand, and I really feel a 20k phone gives more than what I want than throwing out 40k+ for a BB. So far it was a war between Samsung & Apple and Apple is left far behind with more than half bitten portion Do we see BB anywhere in the top 5 ?

Yes, Indeed the Z10 is an amazing phone. Bought mine just today for 37K with B&W and iam yet to even handle it completely

From whatever little that I have used the phone in last few hours, the phone is impeccable and my initial thoughts are below :-

1. Great built quality. Way ahead of the Samsungs of this world
2. Super fast processor, everything seems really fluidic and smooth
3. Looks extremely attractive and business like
4. Great new OS with super awesome features like the HUB & BALANCE
5. Keyboard is to be seen to beileve, you can flick words from the keypad to the screen. Not like the one you do in S3 through a 3rd party app but, this one is really different. Clearly shows the ages of querty superiority technology of BB going into this touchscreen keypad
6. Plenty of features and totally different way to handle this OS in compared to BB 7.1. Will need some learning curve but, heck its going to be one interesting learning and uphill curve
6. Apps. This is the grey area. People seem to crib about the lack of apps. Currently there are 100,000 apps in BB world and everyday approximately 1000 apps are being added. How many is "Enough" ?

P.S: Am I the first member to get this phone?

I look forward to an interesting and hopefully smooth journey into the Z10 and OS10 world.......

An image of a closed box is not what anyone would expect here ! Take your time on the learning part, but no harm in clicking some clear images of the beauty as not everyone can afford it too. Visual pleasure should not be constrained

Here you go, clicked some out of box pictures a little while back.

I was too lazy to remove back-cover. Hope no more complaints

Congrats and thanks for the pics. What's that white striped bands on the back panel? I don't remember seeing that on my friend's handset.

Yes, indeed in grey market you can get the Z10 for 28K-29K. With B & W, its around 39K but, I got a good deal.

I had mentioned already. That's the back-cover which i didnt remove before clicking the pics. Otherwise, its a complete black handset. Looks very very classy ( unlike the cheap looking back cover of an S3 which my wife uses)
