Yes, I've heard about it, but I guess the availability would be perhaps mid next year! I would need a camera with a zoom lens by this December.

Good choice and you will like it. All my lenses are manual and my kid is 2 years and i have never missed a candid moment. Would AF help , i think yes but have been using manual lenses for close to 3 years now from canon days.

The only AF i have is the Sony 35mm and i shoot only at F1.4 with that lens. its a hit and miss even with A7rII due to the DOF but the Eye AF in the A7RII makes shooting candid moments so easy.

The biggest advantage for me is the eye AF. A7RII rocks in that and i hardly worry about focusing when using the A7RII and any AF lenses.

Manual focusing takes time and once you master it you can enjoy the challenges.

I just now tried the A7s and have gone back to A7rII for i wont be ever using that much low light ever and the A7rII gives me exceptionally cropping support. And my fav lens so far has been the Canon 0.95. Only after you print you realize how vintage those pictures are.

I took the plunge. Sold all my Sony NEX gear and got the Olympus OMD EM 5 Mark II with the 12-40mm f2.8 Pro lens. The menu system looks much deeper in content than the NEX. It is going to take a while before I would get fluent with using the camera. The AF is excellent under normal lighting conditions. I was surprised to note that the kit came with a small Olympus flash unit, though I'm not sure how useful that might be. Overall, I like the build quality and I'm definitely loving the IBIS.

While I'm fiddling with my OMD, I'm trying to find out how I could change the ISO in M or A mode? I see that the camera is set to Auto-ISO, but how do I assign the ISO to one of the dials or custom button so that I could manipulate it? Unfortunately, I could not figure this out from the user manuals!

You should be able to set it under

Gear E: ISO & Timers

You can define the upper and lower limit.

But is your question is to toggle between auto iso and standard ISO dial? If so the standard ISO should work when you dial the ISO all the way up to say ISO100 and continue in that direction.

And for generic mirrorless question - Here is a picture from a 99 years old lens the Trioplan 100 mm F2.8. THis lens is now getting modern make up. But the bubble bokeh is its specialty. I call this the Christmas lens.

Which dial is that to control the ISO? there are two dials on the right, one for the Aperture and the other for the exposure compensation. Which dial is that for changing the ISO? On my NEX-6 the second dial was used to control the ISO. How do I do it with the OMD?

What do you guys do to control the ISO? Do you use the Super Control Panel?

Is there a way the front mode dial to control the ISO instead of the exposure compensation? For example., I would like to hold the Fn1 or Fn2 button and rotate the rear dial to change the ISO. This is a lot better than clicking and navigating through the SCP!

I must admit I Rarely adjust ISO. I keep it on auto which will also ensure it never gets above 1600. You would be surprised how good the quality is. I have a few predefined modes in which I would use a fixed ISO and that tends to be 200.

I will figure that out on adjusting the ISO with the Fn button and the mode dial.

I assigned the multi function Fn button (I guess it is the F2 button) to set WB and ISO. This is exactly what I wanted. Pressing the F2 button and rotating the front dial would toggle between WB, while rotating the back dial would change the ISO which is perfect for my style of shooting!
