If its high grade genuine Gorilla glass then no need to put any kind of guard as long as you are not going to forcefully attempt scratching the glass with very sharp objects.

How good is Mi Pad when compared to Nexus 9?

Any first hand reviews and user experience?

I am using one for past 2 months, no screen guard applied. Just a flipcover. It is holding up just fine, don't see any scratches yet.

Haven't used the Nexus 9, so can't compare. But it fits the bill very well for my usage - browsing/music/multimedia/skype.

Camera is not so great, takes decent pictures. Skype video quality is quite good even from the front cam.

If you want to know anything specific, please ask.

Both are light, have a Stylus input option and bluetooth keyboard dock etc.

Question - is it better than the Note Pro I am using? I am a bit tossed. is it a worthy consideration to switch to the Surface 3? do you suggest I let this moment pass away and continue with the Note Pro?

I have a buyer for the Note Pro and have to make a quick decision. all suggestions are welcome.
Surface is the ultimate Urban Warrior's tab - its basically a windows ultraportable laptop which can also function as a tab.

But Windows means that it has only limited touch functionality - scribbling notes or client presentations, as opposed to an iPad/Note. Again, does a Note Pro replace your laptop

Not really - but IMNSHO if you have a small child (ours is 4), its best to put something. Over time the child will win and gorilla glass will lose. Our ipad has a couple of noticeable scratches in four years of use - but in retrospect I'd rather have spent 1k more in screen protectors. I esp like tempered glass if you get it in those sizes. It is the ideal protector IMHO.

FK doesnt say it has gorilla glass on their product page btw. get the tempered glass.

My mother wasn't using the Nexus 7 2012 that we had gifted her. Our four year old has become a much more voracious video consumer.

Need guidance on the best rom for the device. Stock 4.4.1 visibly stutters. I'm thinking of rolling back to 4.3 which was fast. I will stick to stock rom only.

Is there any video player better than mx player? I find it quite nice and capable of playing all videos.

A link to any good tempered glass for the device would be really appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.

A non-technical answer - in a year's time he would get lesser interests in videos and more with games.

Time with friends outside the house is also needed to balance it out. Using the tablet too much causes my kid to go cranky. So, now we time his usage.

Can someone suggest a good tab for lesser than 10k? I am looking at the Mi Pad. My HP Touchpad running CM is just too heavy for viewing for long periods of time.

Has any one of you taken the plunge and bought one? I ask because I'm torn between the micromax laptab (without SIM) and the Micromax lapbook. The laptab can be used as a tablet also but does not have HDMI out. Chromecast may remedy that, but I read that here are issues for it with win 10. I even cancelled my order on Snapdeal, so that I could do more research. Any leads would be appreciated.

All,

I am hunting for a specific android tablet that meets the below criteria:

1. amoled screen
2. screen size larger than 9 inches
3. reasonably high PPI

Any recommendations?

Am on the lookout for buying a tab but confused between windows and android, which one should i go for? The tab would be used for reading books and occasional web browsing.
I have zeroed down on two-
1-Dell Venue 8 3000 Series Tablet
2-HP Stream 8 Tablet

The tablet must have a sim option.

The Quintessential Tablet PC Thread (Android, Apple, BB et al)

Hi Guys, I recently got an iPad mini 2. My prime use is watching movies, reading books/quora etc.
when I checked the iOS for updates, it is prompting to update to iOS 9.2.1. I guess this update is the latest one? Should I go for 9.2.1 update? Will this update slow down my iPad by any chance?

Edit - also one issue I am facing with stock is is that wifi freezes after sometime of inactivity. I have to switch wifi off and then on to resolve the issue. Amy pointers?

Anyone using the Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet? Thinking of getting one from the US of A.

Loved the first shield but $300+ was a bit too much for me but the K1 is $190 which is crazy for the specs it has.
