Those are third party sellers. So they bought it for $99 and are now selling for $225. I won't pay that price. I had rather get Amazon fire for $200 or pay $100 more and get transformer or Archos 101. Anyways, thanks for heads up

Re: The Quintessential Tablet PC Thread (Android, Apple, BB et al)

I want to buy a 10" tablet with the primary purpose of watching movies on the go. Formats divx, mp4, mkv etc.

What would be better : ipad2 or the samsung 750?

How difficult is it to get these formats to play on the ipad?

BestBuy is selling it for $149, but there is a catch. You need to buy a HP Laptop/Desktop as well to get this offer. TechCrunch

I am aware of this. It came out couple of days back. I already helped my colleague buy one. and we are ordering a couple for company use. hope to use android on it sometime in future.

She bought a basic PC for her home use and got tablet. It set her back by $482 with tax and free shipping. $300 for pc which is AMD E-450/2GB/500GB and tablet for $149.

But if you see stand alone price it is $600. All these are from previous stock. They didn't sell out completely, now they are slowing coming out in order to cash in on its popularity. Too bad WebOS is dead and so is this tablet. For $100 or $150 it would have been a very good tablet.

Yeah I know. Slowly the old stock will come out and when the demand dies due to competition from Kindle and the expected Nook update, they prices are bound to go down. Just need to keep your eyes open.

Even HP wouldn't have expected the response when they lowered the price to $99. Had they priced the product correct in the first place, they wouldn't have had to close down the tablet business.

Re: The Quintessential Tablet PC Thread (Android, Apple, BB et al)

Guys got this tablet a few days back and i must say that i am mighty impressed.

Pros:

-snappy 1.2Ghz processor
-4GB on board memory-now expanded with an old 8gb card-so now 12GB
-plays all video formats with proper scaling, the only video that did not play was a 3.85GB MP4 rip from a Blue ray disc.
-brisk internet on a EDGE USB Model with a regular airtel 2G card.
-Gingerbread native.
-plays all games as it supports OpenGL-no lag
-got a 1600 score with quadrant
-one year Indian Warranty with onsite support
-costs only 6.5K !!
-above average built quality
-ebay has sold more than 250 of these in 20 days !

Cons:

-poor viewing angle
-resistive touch screen could have been better-but not complaining at this price.

It does not have bluetooth.
Ports:
-USB two -full size, one mini size.
-HDMI -one.
-3.5mm headphone jack
-micro sd card slot expandable to 32gb.

The tablet supports 3g on usb modem. In fact am typing this on the iberry with a umg1831 modem and a 2g airtel GPRS connection.

Even a good digital photo frame cost 4000 /- so in that light the bt07 is the current vfm champ among lowcost gingerbread tablets.

There is no reason for Apple to dislike Adobe. Adobe couldn't get their flash player for mobile devices either in 2008 (when iPhone came) or in 2009 or 2011. Now, they just killed their development of their Flash player for mobile devices. Source: Exclusive: Adobe ceases development on mobile browser Flash, refocuses efforts on HTML5 | ZDNet

The iPad killer has arrived! Introducing the ASUS Transformer Prime: 10-inch Super IPS+ display, 12-hour battery and quad-core Tegra 3 processor with 1GB RAM, 8.3mm-thick(or thin!!) body, mini-HDMI output, microSD slot and an update to Ice Cream Sandwich by the end of the year. Starts shipping in December for $499 for the 32GB model.

Thanks TOR. Never gave much attention to tablets, but this BT07 grabbed one. Adding to the above, is USB OTG support via the mini-USB port.

Could You tell us whats the average battery-life like; with some browsing (say for 1 hr), music and videos (1 hr) and gaming (1 hr)? Since the BT07 comes only with a tilt-sensor, can You share gaming experience of motion-based games.

I have a question for Android tab users who use USB modems for Net - Are the related dongle drivers available for Android? I use a Reliance Netconnect Broadband + and cannot find an Android driver, for the same. I dont have wifi at home and have to depend on using the dongle, when I end up buying an Android tablet.

I was so hoping this would be launched today! I need a tablet and had made up my mind on the Transformer Prime but I don't know if I'll wait for a month...decisions decisions - Wait for a month or pick up a Galaxy Tab 10.1 today.

Which is better? Ipad or Galaxy tab. Primary use is for internet surfing. Office features-word,powerpoint,excel- or equivalent required. Ability to transfer files between device easily and USB ports, bluetooth would all be a bonus.
I was initially considering a netbook, but now leaning towards tablets.
