Re: The Quintessential Tablet PC Thread (Android, Apple, BB et al)

I need a wall charger for the funbook with 1 Amp current output. My micro-USB port as well as original charger is damaged.

Wanted to know if any of you have used a Bluetooth keyboard along with it? If so, how is the experience and is it worth investing?

My main dilemma is about buying a new laptop. The old one crashed and I have sold it. Now for things like uploading resume, content to web, iPad is useless. Hence was thinking should I really buy a laptop to overcome these few issues? Any suggestions/ workarounds to solve them from iPad. Tried a few apps but not satisfied!
Congo for winning an ipad. I have a BT Keyboard from Zagg called KeysFlex. Its one of the best keyboards i have owned. If you can find one online or in store, get it eyes closed. Good thing, it works with any bluetooth device so i use it with PS3, SIII Phone, ipad, nexus 7 and a laptop. All for <Rs. 2000.

Also, i don't think you can replace productivity of a laptop with ipad. So do get a good laptop for your work. For browsing, ipad is good but cannot replace the laptop in my opinion. YMMV

Re: The Quintessential Tablet PC Thread (Android, Apple, BB et al)

Updated my galaxy Tab2 to 4.1.2 Yesterday over 3G in 15 minutes. The update size was just over 142 Mb. Though i could not find what improvements / additional features have been introduced.

Any one with some details about the update ?

Did some Google search for more information and read Samsung will update the TAB2 till 4.2.2

I (or rather my wife) have been using a Notion Ink Adam for the last few years, but the biggest problem, apart from battery, is that many / most Apps from Play store refuse to install on Adam.

Which would be a good sub-10K tablet to buy, which has Bluetooth accelerometer, and a decent 7" display? The sub-8K ones don't have BT and some no G-sensor. Don't really expect GPS receiver at that price, though having that would be nice.

Notion Ink is dead!

You can look at the Iconia B1 from Acer. It has all the features that you require but the performance and build is nothing extraordinary. It costs 8K.

You can also look for the 8 inch Karbonn tab. It has bluetooth but skimps GPS but has a great performance. It costs about 6.3K. It even comes with an HDMI out.

Even I saw a recent review of the Karbonn tab on Tech Guru and it was judged the best budget tablet. The performance was more than satisfactory for the price it commands. i of course do not have any hands on experience, just stating what I saw in the show.

I use Bryson screen cleaner with a microfiber cloth for all displays of laptop, monitor, tv, phone and tablet. Works great and keeps all screen shinning.

A piece of simple banyan cloth has served me very well for the past year and no other fancy stuff and no liquid at all. The iPad 2 glass does not show any mark at all.

I have put the screen guard from Amzer on my iPad2.

This is fantastic and hardly leaves any fingerprints. The cleaning cloth which comes along with this is more than sufficient to keep the iPad clean. The matte finish of the screen is another highlight, I love the way my iPad feels. Note that, there is no compromise on the touch sensitivity.

Regards,
Good to hear about this.
So, what is the difference between the tablet which Google is selling for around 16K and the one that Asus is going to sell (Wifi only version) for around 18-19K?

Edit: Updated Nexus coming in July.

The capacity of the 19k device will be 32GB with wi-fi, 32GB with 3G will be 22k and sold through retail channels.

The play store currently sells the 16GB wi-fi only version for 16k.
