I just checked once again. When you have more than one device tied to a google account, it shows up in the play store as a separate entry. Hopefully that should take care of it.

Guys,

Any samsung tab 2 users in here?

I am planning to get the 3g variant in a weeks time. Now that its priced at 15k makes it a worthy buy. I know that in todays world of quad and octo cores, tab 2 is just a 1 ghz dual core tab.

My useage is very basic, emails and movies on the go. May be skype while travelling. Hows the skype performance over wifi?

I dont want any chinese or generic brand tabs. Checked out the Lenovo tab also but somehow the screen didnt impress me.

Regards

Try playing around with the device at your local mobile store. If you find it good enough in speed go for it.

I asked my wife to check our my sister's Tab 2. She said its too slow in less than 5 minutes and rejected it outright.
So, I need to look for a more responsive system.

I was planning to buy the wifi only version, but found the interface lagging a lot in the demo piece at the Samsung cafe.
Why don't you check out the Asus memopad me172v, it costs 10k.
I'm not sure whether it has a camera or not.

This is a nice find - it appears quite new in the market.
From the specs, there is a front facing 1 mp camera and no rear camera.
Long batterylife, good display, decent plastic build, average CPU, no BT, no 3G.

I am wondering how this compares to tablets from Karbonn.

I saw one yesterday (ST10) at a little less than 10K.
The only thing I did not like was the 4:3 aspect ratio of the tablet. In this age of 16:9, I am not sure why Karbonn came up with 4:3.
I suspect video will have black bands on top and bottom.

Other than this point, I found the table to be good enough. 3G support is available via dongle.

My requirement is to buy a cheap and rugged tablet for my son for entertainment only.

Nexus 7 is amazingly built device and one of the best 7" Android Tabs out there. The only issue for me is, i need a SD card support as i keep swaping my SD card with movies / music on it between my Tab and my MX imito device which is connected to my LCD. Hence Nexus 7 ruled out. Other wise

Have a friend who is using the wifi only version he got from US about a yr ago. Finds it OK for the price and spec. Knowing its a 1GHz Dual core i cant compare it with others. As mentioned, my main purpose is 70% Movies & Books, 20% gaming & 10% Skype calls. and all this while i am travelling. Rest of the time, it will be used primarily at home by wife & me for browsing and basic time pass.

Will definitely do that. I went around 2-3 stores but sadly none had Asus Tabs. Any online stores where i can order from. FK doesnt seem to have the MeMo Pad range.

Edit : Found it. Croma sells it.

You could even say Why did Apple come up with 4:3 display on the iPad?

Simple reason, for everything except watching videos 4:3 is better than 16:9 any day. Reading books, browsing the web, even playing some games is easier.
Also a 4:3 tablet can be used in portrait orientation easily.

Karbonn also has a similar but smaller(8 inch) tablet. The smaller screen is the only difference. But it costs only 6.3K, so its much more VFM and more portable if you need it.

Re: The Quintessential Tablet PC Thread (Android, Apple, BB et al)

Hi Guys,

I was going through the discussion on this thread, but instead of getting some leads, ending up getting more confused.

What I am looking for is following:

1. A 10" Tab (No 7" at all) which would be primarily used for Video calling.
2. This would be used by my In - laws for making skype calls to family
3. Other usage would be checking emails and pretty much routine internet surfing.
4. Budget - Not more than 15000
5. Should be reliable, with minimum tinkering around required and niggles. As the people using it would not know much about setting it right on their own.

Thanks

Rohit

"Few pix ON my iBerry CoreX4 ..." because that's all that we can see, baba! Pliss put some normal light pics for people with non-IR vision

Yes. I agree. Maybe they copied Apple.

Ask jkdas for a review before you put your money on iBerry.

Any idea if the Asus Nexus 7 with 3g has hit the stores? I cannot find it on flipkart or other online stores. As per the press release this was launched on 2nd Apr.

Finalized on the Note 10.1 for the missus. Exploring accessories at the moment.
Still to buy the item. Hopefully there should be offers this month to get this for around 30-31K.
The S-pen is very impressive indeed.
