Hi Anupam,

I have used the Tablet (Called - Kindle Fire) and its good if you are using Amazon extensively like - magazines, journals etc. If you are not then you are better of a plane jane Tablet like Nexus or Samsung.

Well, it would largely be used by kids, and the kindle tablet has parental control as per their website

OCTA LOGIC CORE GPU
2GB RAM
QXGA HD IPS Display (2048 * 1536) 264 PPI
4 K Ultra HD 4096 * 2160 resolutions Video Support
5MP Rear Camera with Auto Focus
2MP Front Camera for Video Chatting
Watch video while working

8000mAh Lithium-ion battery

Anyone who has used this, I did see one review online saying the tablet is slow. I need to buy one today.

Re: The Quintessential Tablet PC Thread (Android, Apple, BB et al)

Anyone here owning Samsung galaxy Tab 3 8" inch ? I saw the demo and couple of youtube videos(ipad mini vs tab 3) and am very much impressed.

I am looking for 8 inch because i felt 7 inch tablet to be bit too small and the 10 inch to be bit too big

I was seriously thinking about iPad mini but hearing rumors on iPad mini 2 coming soon (How soon is that ???)

Currently the price of iPad mini and Tab 310 are pretty much the same. So i am very confused which one is better !!

Confused what to do :

1. Buy iPad mini now
2. Wait for new iPad mini
3. Wait for new iPad mini - old iPad mini gets a price cut/ Samsung also gives a price cut for Tab 3.

Do you want to take a look at the new Nexus-7 ? Of course its a 7 inch, but way more value for money at 229.

nexus is fully power packed especially the display and processor, but somehow felt 8 inch screen size is bigger and better. Also it lacks memory extension. I also heard that Samsung supports OTG which nexus doesnt

I have an iPad Mini (used by dad) at home too along with my Gen-1 Nexus. Believe me I find the Nexus size much more easy to handle. I find the mini a bit heavy. Gen-1 Nexus display was nothing to talk about. But the new one seems to be very good. Hence I suggested. Size and OTG part I leave it to you. I cant comment on that part as its your need. But a 32GB new Gen Nexus-7 (even a Wifi version) would make a very compelling proposition.

By the way I tried Siri Vs Google Voice commands. Siri I think is no match for Google. May be I might be limited to what all I tested. All I checked were places, directions to cities, looking for Italian/Chinese restaurants or Pizza near by my location, opening apps etc. Google gets it spot on, while Siri is left panting for breath!

Google Now surpassed Siri long back in terms of speed, accuracy and conversational aspects. Just see this video in full and you'll be amazed at how far Google Now has come -

Yes was aware of the same. I also remember Clevermax posting some aspects of the same. But I just wanted to see if IOS7 did some thing good.
No such luck! This was between IOS7 (iPadMini) Vs Android 4.3 (Gen 1 Nexus 7)

Price drop on the Nexus 7 (2012) which is currently being sold in India. The 16GB wifi Model is available for Rs. 9,999 (on flipkart, no stock on amazon india).

It's a great price and also makes for a good offline naviagator.

Flipkart also has a rather cheap ASUS Memopad http://www.flipkart.com/asus-memo-pa...mdkftafuaea84b - under 6K.

Thats an awesome deal carboy. Does the nexus 7 come in 16 GB 3G model or only in 32GB 3G?
