Re: Up to speed with driving- now deciding between Brio / Jazz / Beat Diesel / i10

Among the 3 choices that you have, i would also recommend the Honda Jazz.

If i was in your place, i would have gone for the Ford Figo - ZXi model (TDCi). Comes to around 6.3 lakhs i guess in Bangalore. Quite a spacious car with a diesl advantage followed by great ride and handling. I am sure it will carry a good resale value 2 years from now.

Can you tell me why have you not considered Ford Figo Diesel when you are actually ready to shell out more on Jazz.

My pick if I am in this situation: Jazz

Above and beyond everyone has said here, I would like to add one more point:

The need to upgrade to bigger hatch or even to sedan can be deferred if you buy Jazz. Jazz has the space of a sedan in hatch avatar! and the FE in Jazz is decent enough if you compare to other petrol hatches. Jazz owners can vouch for it.

Jazz is among the best hatches. + you can always tell your wife "I am going with your choice"

Dude, that is also where the dilemma arises. She likes the Eon too, and I like the fact that I will have to pay a lesser EMI for it

I voted for Brio - Jazz is undoubtedly the best of the lot and something you can easily keep for 5+ yrs.. But Brio is cheaper, will be more fuel efficient and you can convince your wife also to drive and let her do the chores

I voted Chevy Beat Diesel based on your budget limits, prices in Bangalore, and re-sale value/savings in Bangalore 5 years down the line when you might want to Upgrade. At that time, selling a diesel might save you around a lakh!

Also I really don't get the "only 20km per day so buy a petrol" remarks when you need to have this vehicle for 5 years.
