Suggestions please

My mom and I currently use a wagonR which is nearly 3 years old now. I got a qoute from a known true value dealer for 2.25L.

I really love the palio 1.6 with an OTR price of 4.4L

Please give me a few good ways to convince my mom to change the car.
Money is not a big problem (we can take loan)

My mom says when the car is running properly why do we need to change.

Palio 1.6 owners please give honest figures of FE. I read somewhere that it is somwhere between 10 and 12kpl. But i rarely get above 10 on my wagonR( i love to revv the engine)

How is the A/ss after the tata fiat deal.

Even my mom likes the palio which we considered buying instead of wagonR but were put off by fiat A/ss

help as soon as possible..

Thanks in advance

Our WagonR is more than 5 years old now. take my word and dont spend now on the palio 1.6

For your own interest wait for some time. A new palio 1.6 is on the horizon and Nissan's hatch is also to be released. Prices for this palio version will fall and you can get a better deal then.

The time is not much far away.

You can take loan but 2.25 for your WagonR is a bit low. try to sell your car privately for atleast 2.5 or more.

My palio 1.6 gives 8 kmpl, with a/c always ON, music system in full blast, and agressive driving, and occasionally bashing up cyclist and bikers who scratch my car/my rear view door mirror, specially my left door.

My advice is to please wait till the tie up of TATA-FIAT settles down and the launch of new PALIO(Dont know when), also add 20 to 25 k to what the brokers / true value guys quote to you.

Cheers.....Major

60% highway driving AC on always, Reliance 97 Octane, 29 psi. Best mileage ever was 13.75 kmpl worst was 8.75 (car was brand new and this was the very first mileage).

Overall average mileage has been about 11 kmpl.

Car is 2003 Fiat Palio S10.

I would say if you can wait, wait for the new Palio. The interiors are so much better.

They should considering that the new variants are already on sale in Brazil.

By the way, read on the Times of India website that Fiat and a couple of other car makers are studying the Swift success story very closely and Fiat is waiting for it's alliance with tata to stabilize and smoothen up. Once that happens, which should be next year, the Grande Punto will be here!

Hi All, I saw the new cheeky red bright and colourful vibrant Aveo 1.6 and I must say this car looks very good from outside as well as inside. I did not get a chance to test drive it however I came upon this web site where the Aveo was given a thumb down by the Euro NCAP on 3rd March 2006. This review says that - "the Chevy Aveo was singled out for unacceptably high risk of injury to the driver’s chest". I would not risk buying a car which does not provides proper safety, though the higher end model does have ABS and Airbags etc. So why has this review mentioned so?

http://paultan.org/archives/2006/03/...rom-euro-ncap/

Even Skoda Octavia bear huge damages in collisions - http://www.vv.se/filer/11632/skoda_o...tor_011126.jpg

My current shortlisted cars are Aveo / Ford Fiesta / Honda City ZX / Maruti Swift (for long run).

Any suggestions as I want to put hard earned money to proper use? I did single out Aveo but this European review on the web site has made me think again.
