1 Lac car!!! Which?

Hi all, well am still not able to cope up with what my Dad said. I have finally decided to sell off my Ford Escort and buy another car. I will be buying this car for just 5-6months usage and will be mostly selling it off next year Jan. I have to buy the car by this month 14th deadline. So my dad wants me to stick to a budget of 1 lac (Yea u heard that right :() and I can stretch it upto 1.5 too. Till now the only cars which I feel that comein this bracket are Zen, 800, Alto, Indica, Esteem (V.Old), and some other extinct cars like Escort and Cielo. I strictly dont wanna go for the extinct species. And I wanna even keep myself away from the Indicas too. My Mom hates the Zen as its too tiny. Well I was thinking of going for an OHC or a Lancer, but my dad has a point there, buyin this car for just 5-6 months is of no use. So guys which car would u recommend?

from what u have described, teh only car is the Alto, but I doubt u can get a good piece for 1L - maybe an initial VX.

But my suggestion is that u should consider the Matiz. Brilliant car at throwaway prices!

You may have issues with sourcing spares and service. Avoid matiz till GM introduces the Spark. For 1L you can only get the old faithful decent M800. Scrutinise the car thourghly before you buy.

Esteem is also a good option i think you can get a 96-98 model for that price. Disposing it off in 6 months might be a major problem !!!

Guys another new Query .... My Dad only wants a car with a rear Boot .... damn!!! , so the Zen and 800 are out. Esteem is ruling my list now. alto is nice but I kinda dont like it. My friend knows one Automatic Cielo for 70k, will check it out soon.

Avoid the MATIZ and CIELO..... thought of suggesting an M800 ( best choice ) at that price range, but now that you want a car with rear boot... Esteem should be an option, but then again reselling it would be a problem unlike the M800 ( easier compared to Esteem ).... suggest you not to go for a Cielo.....

Ambassador, Premier Padmini, Omni => all with boots, cheap, easy to buy and sell I think for 6 months you can afford buying a "not so common car".
