Help me decide on this S10

Hai guys,
Went and saw a S10 today in Pune.Single owner car in good shape and has done around 56K kms.The asking price is 2.4(Still trying to get it further down)
All service records for this car is available.Had a TestDrive today.I was floored by the response of the car.It was simply awesome. Now its time to take decision.

First thing is the price.I feel its on the higherside.I need your views on this.
Second point, tyres need replacement.56K over.I was told they could last another 10K kms.but I am not convinced.Did S10 come with 185\65\R14 tyres. The RC book mentioned as 175\65\R14.But this month's ACI also
in its Buying Used car column mentioned 185 profile. As per service records
Cluth\Suspension have been taken care of around 50K mark.
Music system provided by Fiat is nearing its end.I need to get a good system also.So 15K for tyres and another 10K for a simple music setup, over 2.4 lacs for the car.
My heart says a big YES,but head says No.
Very very confused.Have to make a decision before t'mow evening.
All your help in helping me decide would be realy apreciated.
And to add to this confusion, there is also a 2003 Petra 1.6 . Single owner car and in good condition.Asking price is 3.5 lacs!!??!!??!!
Regards,
Jeyaraj

Go for the S10. 2.0 - 2.3 should be reasonable for S10. Which model year is the car? Last year a TBHP member from Hyd bought his 2001 - 2002 Palio GTX for 2.3 lacs.

S10 being a limited edition would command better price than GTX right?

Hai Satish,Its a 2003 August make. The year of mfg and Registration date both are Aug-03. S10 Series number is 279.
JKDas,S10 should have a premium,i agree,as it was a limited edition. But I just wanted to make sure this pricing is right. To make matters worse,i also found that the first owner had given this to Automart at 2.10 lacs price.Got this information through PUG.

When it comes to cars, always listen to the heart. You are understandably besotted by the S10. Why not bargain for any little that is possible, and go ahead and indulge.

Its a superb machine.

GTO:I fully Agree with you.
I was grinning ear to ear when i took the test drive of this vehicle.
Amazing power. The owner has upsized to 185 profile tyres and it helps a lot too.
I somehow even managed to convince my wife, who simply couldnt understand why i am sooo crazy about a hatchback when i already have a sedan :-)
I always enjoyed the Traffic signal GP's in my 2005 Esteem VXi.
During my TD i had to stop at a signal and all eyes at the signal were staring at the car.The Feeling i got when the signal turned green and i floored the pedal, couldnt be described on words.
Oh God,i think i will head to AutoMart today to sort things
-Regards,
Jraj

That's a sweet car. You should definitely get it. What colour is it?

Try out the current tyres/wheels for a few weeks, and if you dont like it maybe you could upsize to 195/55/R15 or something similar. (its a hot car, it deserves large hot wheels)

Forget the music system, get a K&N performance air filter instead. Should give you more than enough to listen to.

Good luck!

Go for it bro,
Since you already have a sedan, and this will be your second car, listen to your heart and go for it.
Original tire size is 175/65R14. He must have upgraded his tyres.
I would advise you to get 185/60R14 yokohama ES100s (2600/tyre in mumbai) or Bridgestone Potenza GIIIs. (I think some 3200/tyre in Mumbai).
185/65R14 would give you some serious problems with your odo readings.
Cheers
