Spares for the old fusion were quite expensive. I hear the new one is more indigenised, so spares might be cheaper now. You might consider researching that. I have driven one but only in our office parking lot, and can not comment further, though I must say, while the owner was happy with its highway performance, he was sad about its expensive servicing bills.

Any comments on safety(crash or otherwise) on Fusion vs Getz?
I went to http://www.driveinside.com (see the post http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...dmund-com.html)
and compared the two cars.

Among the safety features, Getz has ABS while Fusion has Front Impact Beams. Nothing else separates the two. Not sure about the crash safety but if I have to take a guess based on the features, Fusion would fare better in Frontal Impact situations while Getz might help you avoid those situations

BTW, why aren't you considering swift ? IMO, it is more VFM and has both Airbags and ABS so probably safer (Again, I am not sure about the crash rating of swift).

This doesn't make all Ford dealers dumb. I've had very good relations with Ford Dealer at Noida - South City Ford.
Experiences with a certain dealer in a specific city shouldn't be correlated with generic dealership/bad after sales assumptions.

Neither are good interms of VFM as others have noted here!

If you think you can deal with the maintenance/support part, then go with the Fusion. Its got more space, better engine, better looks (subjective offcourse!), and good on the highways relatively. Also, Fusion's road presence is a lot more than the Getz and there are only a few Fusions on the road too!

Hey.. I own a Fusion + ABS ( Old Model) for the last 6 months. More than happy with the Car (The engine to be precise). Quite happy with the Ford Service here in Mumbai. Ok Build quality.
Cannot compare it with Getz in terms of the Driving pleasure, Handling, Space, Ride quality. Fusion is way ahead of getz in those aspects.
But as you have posted.. That the above factors are not the deciding criteria for your car selection. I would recommend you to test drive with Swift (Safety) /The new Indigo/Marina (VFM).
